The best goal you have ever scored?

Alright lads, a bit off-topic since there is nothing much of substance to discuss about in the silly season. I'm sure that all of us must have played Football at some level or the other right?

So, what is the greatest goal YOU have ever scored? It could be from your school games or straight off from your local park. Give a brief account of the game's background as well.

WUMs will be deleted. Enjoy the discussion.

Back when I was 9 playing for Crosby Stuarts, and I played on the right wing. Someone layed it off to me on the right wing and I dribbled down the line, went past 4 players in about 15m, cut inside the box and drilled it in the top corner. Never scored a goal a good as that again.

The best part was when I went by the four players, I didn't take it more than a metre and a half away from the touchline, just threw in a few shoulder drops, drags and nutmegs. I'd love to see how it would've looked on TV

I was playing up front for the local under 12s. It was 3-3 at the end of the game. Our right winger won a tackle and broke and I raced down the middle. He smacked the ball over and as it hit the ground 15 yards out I caught it on the half volley and smacked it in off the bar. The thing I remember most is the under 18s were on the sidelines as they were playing next and as I wheeled away they were going ballistic.

The goalkeeper was out of position and I scored an Alonso from my own half.

I scored a screamer a few years back against a client company we'd arranged a match with - the ball was lobbed from defence, floated over my shoulder and I volleyed it home, top corner.

Bizarrely I repeated the goal with a carbon copy ten minutes later...

The client was asking me if I ever played semi-pro, after the game?! If only he knew...

Corner, get headed out to 20 - 25 yards which I struck on the half volley ino the top left.

Never, ever, in nearly 30 years of football have I hit a ball as cleanly. Still think about it now.

I'm a Goalkeeper and I scored by kicking it out of my hands from my box, I have to say it was the wind that took it in as the wind caught the ball but it has been my only goal, this happened 2 years ago when i was 15

I was walking to the shop for 20 Embassy Filters and a couple of tins of Stella one evening and the kids were playing footy at the end of the street.

The ball fell to me as I stepped off the pavement, I took it past one kid, EASY, then another who tried to get a foot in, but my superior strength managed to hold him off. I found myself in the middle of the street. The defence stood off me, so I took a shot from about 15 yards. MELTED it.

It hit one kid in the face and she started to cry, but luckily I collected the rebound and smashed it again. The 9 year old keeper stood no chance. Right in the bottom left.

It felt amazing. Unfortunately when I got home from the shops they were stuffing burning newspapers through my letterbox and the dad of the kid that got hit in the face wanted a word. It was worth it though.

Thanks for the response. Keep 'em coming

I'm a goalkeeper and so I don't get to score at all. But on one occasion, the school team were playing against the reserves in preparation for a forthcoming tournament and we were trailing 2-3 in the game with barely seconds to go.

Our team got a free-kick in the right flank about 30-35 yards out from the goal. I went up the opposition box in spite of the abuses hurled at me from the coach on the sidelines. The free kick evaded everyone and I blindly swung my head like a maniac.

The next thing I know, I scored a bullet header. Shame I couldn't see it though. My mates jumped all over me and woke up the next day with a sore body.

Good times!
