he is such a has been. I miss him from 2004, 2005.. he was absolutely the most amazing tennis player i had ever witnessed back then. Now however he's past it, mentally weak, and has a poor attitude towards everybody. Time for you to retire federer you were great but it's all about DJOKOVIC now so go nole you are the best !

He lost to an all time great over four tough sets and, at nearty 31, he can compete with anyone and still destroy most. Do you think, if he couldn't routinely get to every single major semi-final, he'd want to carry on? He's the finest player who's ever picked up a racquet and may retire on 16 slams, but also may get 18. Calling Rafa a moonballer is incredibly disrespectful to a 10-time Slam champion, who has been to five Wimbledon finals, winning two. If Federer was 25 years older, Borg and McEnroe would be battling for the right to lose in the final and Nadal, as much as I don't like his style, is a tremendous champion (I love him not quite as much as his uncle, who hit his penalty straight at Safe Hands in 1996). Celebrate the fact that there are three active legends playing currently and that a Briton is one of the 10 finest players since the war but can't win a Slam - that's how good it is now. Thomas Johanssen has won a Slam - better than Murray? Worse than Henman.

Evans_above, please don't tell me you like synchronised swimming, figure skating and rhythmic gymnastics. Don't tell me you prefer them to any of the many forms of canoeing.
That aside, excellent comment.
Rob, Schettino abandoned Federer about 3 or 4 years ago. What have you been waiting for?

OH, Robert, welcome aboard

It's only. Cheers for the kind words. You're quite right, I may need to amend my profile, although, in my eyes, those monstrosities you mention are not actual sports. Canoeing is great fun, not sure I could sit through much of it on the telly though.

sorry but federer may have ruled in a weak era
i'm starting to get that vibe. Now that moonballer nadal and the glorious djokovic have taken over the tour over the past 5 years, he's still there only because the rest of the field are not world class. I think Murray is going to improve now with the great one lendl coaching him. Federe is done, a sinking ship, etc.

Again, is it a sport? Did enjoy staying up late to watch our women win the Olympic gold, but it is, to plagiarise the late, great Linda Smith, housework on ice.
