....to hear SAF, post-match, complaining about ref Mark Halsley. If ever there was a referee who was determined to keep the game going, stamp hard on any sign of trouble, keep his cards in his pocket, be as fair as possible in that cauldron it was him. Yet, it was his fault that ManU lost. Apparently, the latest one is that Dirk was offside. Sad, isn't it? When Chelsea's Sturridge, you know, the one who was shot when he was in the penalty box by a sniper it seems, certainly by the way he went down - he got up, bless 'im - when such performances were, to the credit of each side missing at Anfield, and when one team wins, at least the other manager can do is hold his hands up, admit defeat by a bettter side and congratulate the winners. No so apparently with ManU JimmmyTheRed

What did SAF say out of curiosity? If he actually has criticised the referee then he needs to shut up. Poor tactics, a mismanagement of goalkeepers and silly substitutions cost us today. I think we should have beat you lot today. Park and Giggs aside, I feel everyone played well and gave you little time on the ball.
A mixture of poor defending and poor goalkeeping for the goals, but nevermind.

The maxi two footed challenge was a bit odd, i mean he went in two footed but he seem to plant the studs of both feet into the floor before or rather then the ball/player.
It was if he just leapt forward and landed two footed, we have all seen them given and some not if the player had flung himself around he probably would of walked.
Maxi was frustrated he was having a very bad game, him and Enrique infact and credit to Kenny for noticing it as i did, and that challenge was his last contribution thankfully.

Scholesatov, you were badly weakened by your injury list. I don't think Scholes could have lasted much longer. You played very well, you dominated the midfield with long periods of possession. SAF was being the typical SAF we know and do not love in defeat. He criticised Halsey unfairly in my view, suggesting you should have had a penalty at one stage. You appear to be suffering more than us with injuries. I think the PL is there for City to lose. JimmyTheRed

Two-footed challenges are allowed, but if they are dangerous they get punished... which most two-footed challenges are.

That was one of the best referee performances i have seen this year, well played Halsley, up there with Clattenburgs performance in the 6-1 manchester derby

Got my Laws of the Game out for you! And I'll quote:
"Any player that lunges at an opponent in challenging for the ball from the front, from the side or from behind using one or both legs, with excessive force and endangering the safety of an opponent is guilty or serious foul play"
The keywords being "excessive force". I can't remember clearly, but I'm not sure Maxi used excessive force, but what it is saying is two-footed challenges are allowed as long as they are safe (which, often, they are not)
