To clarify: "the offside"

It's just a quick article to clarify the complaints that for the winning goal Andy Carroll was offside. The rule in question is as follows:

"Regardless of position, there is no offside offence if a player receives the ball directly from a corner kick, goal kick, or throw-in. However, an offside offence may occur if a player receives the ball directly from either a direct free kick or an indirect free kick."

Thus Andy Carroll was not offside and the goal was perfectly Legitimate. Thank you and good night. With regards Maxi, yeah, could have been a red.

Hope that the boys continue this run against Wolves.

Schwest.

I don't understand why Maxi was making that tackle. In fact I still don't know why any players do it. Its suicide for a footballer. He ran a huge risk.

It was a dumb challenge from Maxi no doubt. Easily could have been a red but I think Mark Halsey made the correct decision for the game keeping it at 11 v 11
