"But I don't see Lennon as a good manager"
Ask Sir walter that, after the pumpings wee lenny gave him as manager and player

Walter won the title in the end tho and that's what it's all about.
I actually think Lennon has done s good job and has the makings of a good manager
Put Mowbray to shame

Big Toe... that's an unfair comparison though. There are twice as many Neil Lennons as there is Walter Smiths.

i 'm sure Lennons stats from last season and this season so far will show and prove that he is a top class young manager

Neil Lennon won his 71st match in charge of Celtic against Falkirk today, his record is now: Played 97 Won 71 Drew 12 Lost 14.

Aye a cracking manager, who got you pumped out of 2 Euro competitions last season, and another one this season before you sneaked in the back door.
Went on to lose the league with your only real rivals on their knees with debt
....Signing 2 teams worth of players, most of whom have been g@sh, but you think he has an eye for a player because 2 or 3 have come good
Pfft...if Lennon's the best manager, I'd like to see the worst!

Wumming aside – Lennon’s statistics are impressive. He had a superb tally of points last season, a tally which would often win the league – and is currently top of the SPL. So in those terms he has proved himself as a good manager.
However Old Firm managers aren’t just judged by the match totals – they are judged by trophies won. Last year in spite of Lennon’s tally he didn’t win the league. He won a cup… and for any club outwith the Old Firm that would be a fantastic achievement but for Rangers or Celtic the big one is the league. Even Old Firm head to heads don’t really matter… I’m sure any manager would sacrifice all those games if they were guaranteed the league.
If Ally doesn’t win the league this year it will be a disappointment, because at Rangers or Celtic the title is the main aim. If he wins a cup it won’t make up for the league disappointment. But any silverware for Rangers will be a good achievement for him considering the constraints he is working under.
So yes… statistically Lennon’s record is good, but statistics mean nothing at this stage. He has won more trophies than Ally as a manager… but Ally hasn’t even been in the job a season. Will Celtic win the league this year – I think it’s more than likely… will it mean Lennon is the best manager? Not necessarily… given the resources of the Old Firm they should always be finishing in the top 2, and given the relative resources of Rangers Celtic should be winning the league.
