TORRES: STILL MISSED?

I know many people really had a lot of issues with the departure of Torres, and the nature of it, but now, almost exactly one year on and with time to reflect, how do people feel about this?

For me, in his time at liverpool, Torres gave us some extraordinary moments, and in his spell with us I genuinely believe that he was one of the very best in the world. With torres and gerrard in the team I genuinely used to believe that we could beat anyone, and it was a good feeling!

I didn't agree with some of the comments and the nature of his departure, but now the anger has subsided, I actually quite feel sorry for him with the way his stock has nosedived since leaving us (although I still feel a little smug too).

To be honest I would love it if he had stayed, and we hadn't bought carrol. People think he is bad now, but the system doesnt suit him - remember that even when he left he has still scored quite a few goals for us that season - plenty more than he has in the last calendar year. With Torres, a couple of goals leads to confidence and more goals, and he would have had that with the service we provide.

we sold babel, and we could have paid for suarez with a top-up of that fee, and in doing so would have secured the most potent attacking force in the premier league.

Sadly, torres wanted to go and we couldn't have kept him, but I wish he'd have given kenny's new era a chance. For my part, I'm sure he has plenty of regret, and his current slump makes me able to be the bigger man about this (like if your missus leaves you and you see her a few months later with a swampdonkey). I'd love to see him in an interview if we finished above chelsea, and in a champs league slot though

Thanks for the memories fernando, sadly you chose to walk alone..

He has a different version of events though.

Even though he was unhappy, when the club was offered £50 million he was simply told he was being sold.

It was too much money and he was off whether he liked it or not.

We might never know the truth.

That's absolute nonsense. Torres handed in a transfer request for crying outloud and had wanted to leave for a year. He says promises were broken and Liverpool fans don't know the whole story. Regardless, he wanted to leave, when others stuck with it. He has been terrible since. The choice is made and now he's dealing with the consequences.

Saw loads and loads of Torres Chelsea shirts on sale on Oxford street the other day, I felt a little sorry for him then, I must admit, for the first time since his departure.

Would take him back if a decent opportunity arose, which it won't, but then I was wrong about Bellamy coming back so....

There are 3 sides to the Torres story

Torres side, Liverpool FC official story, and the truth.

Guess which one we will never hear

Its the same with this Carroll to City story this past weekend, we are told that the club never officially approached City, it seems that someone within the club is telling porkies.

BTW

KensingtonCity.......................

Congratulations on actually accepting that all we hear from our clubs, no matter how good or bad it makes them look, may not be completely honest

I may be in the minority on here but I feel quite sorry for Torres.

I honestly don't believe he ever truly wanted to leave us, even when he was interviewed when he signed for Chelsea something just seemed wrong with him.

Like posted earlier we will never find out the truth.

Previous six months before departing told its own story on torres.

He wanted away, and we defended his g&sh performances week in week out.

Only time he sprung into life was when he wanted chelsea to see what he could do by scoring twice against them, other than that it was everybody else's fault why he was firing blanks, whats changed since he got his move?

The kid lacks heart when times get rough.

Now he's just another name amongst other underperforming names.
