Ulster to replace McLaughlin, claim reports
Ulster are seeking to replace head coach Brian McLaughlin, despite his success with the province, according to reports.
The Irish Examiner and Belfast Telegraph both claim that McLaughlin's contract, which expires at the end of May, will not be extended and the coach will be allowed to leave Ravenhill.
McLaughlin has made major progress with Ulster since taking charge in 2009.
They currently sitting in sixth place in the RaboDirect Pro 12 League and have reached the quater-finals of Heineken Cup for the second successive year.
However, Director of Rugby David Humphreys and Chief Executive Shane Logan are both believed to be convinced of the need for change and have already targetted possible replacements.
New Zealand duo John Kirwan and Matt Sexton are the names that are being heaving linked with the post.
The timing of the news comes as somewhat of a surprise, coming on the back of the announcement that Ulster have been given the green light to redevelop their Ravenhill stadium and ahead of the Heinken Cup quarter-final clash with Munster in April.
Ulster rugby reacted to the reports with a brief statement that will do little to quell speculation about McLaughlin leaving.
"In response to media speculation today regarding the Ulster Rugby Head Coaching position, Ulster Rugby confirms that the current coaching contracts are set to finish at the end of the season, and are under review. There will be no further comment at this time," the statement read

Seems very harsh and very poor motivation for the games at Munster, if its true or false it needs clarification quickly, couldn't they have done this before the Leicester game?

The guarded response makes it look true. Which is a pity.
