Nice outcome as you say. Let's hope good things happen to Rovers from now on too. I was discussing the game with myself today at work, as you do when you work from home alone. It crossed my mind that the loss of Billy could have a positive rather than negative impact on the team. You guys know more about who gets what at Rovers and I'm no sports psychologist but.... Whilst everybody loved Billy, he was put up on a pedestal and probably earned far more than the rest of the team. Now it's relatively even on pay(Correct me if I'm wrong) it may have a galvanising effect on team spirit

From a playing point of view a different type of striker might benefit the team also.
As i have said previously, although Billy's goals were obviously good for us, if he didnt score he often didnt feature much in the build up play.
A centre forward who can hold up the ball and bring others into scoring positions may be a plus that some have not considered.
I know that Billy was very popular amongst most of the squad but he has gone now and it gives someone else a chance to shine.

I also had a similar thought Hound. Also, perhaps Diuof was constrained by Billy's presence and will now have more freedom (if he stays and I hope he does) to lead the line as he sees fit, albeit within the overall game plan. Having said that, I really wish that we had been able to keep Billy but all the very best to him. I hope that he manages to push Southampton into the Premier League this season - he's a great lad and deserves success.

Chris Brown should be back soon. He hasn't really had chance to prove himself yet, so he may be another option.
