Must admit its a strange one indeed but I think Nelson had his contract cancelled so he is now a free agent so can now sign at anytime.

The Pienaar one is a real puzzler unless there's a strong chance it was the only way they'd buy him in the Summer. It certainly leaves us short on the wings, and Niko proved once again last night he leaves us badly exposed at the back when he goes wandering into the middle. Same with Bale in his free role but I can forgive him anything if he keeps scoring goals like last nights.

Looks like Gio and Danny Rose will be playing back up wingers for the rest of the season, let's hope they take their chances when they come.

Spurminator, I have a funny feeling Danny Rose might find himself playing at left back for the next 3 games....

Good point there Phil, and I think you may well be right. Let's just hope Bale doesn't get injured then as it'll leave us a bit on the light side on the left

Personally, unlike a lot of Spurs fans it seems, I'm fairly happy with our dealings yesterday - but just cannot get my head around the Pienaar loan.

I can see Saha and Nelsen doing ok in the hopefully small amount of game time they're likely to get.

I'd have preferred us to bring in Samba and Hoillett instead but I get the feeling there's a lot of book balancing going on at the moment.

I reckon Gio could be very important to us, and I've always rated him higher than Pienaar in terms of talent if not attitude. When we got CL it was down to a few players coming in and really stepping up, let's just hope they can do that again if we need them.
