What a result last night. I was listening on my computer & could hear our guys shouting for The Reds. I went to Leicester on Saturday & it was the same - OK, we didn't win that one but played well.
Contrast that to Millwall at Wembley - a much bigger game. We didn't play in red that day, & we all felt a bit subdued.
IMO, if we play in our traditional colours, it gives our fans more of a sense of identity & can encourage the team.
"C'mon you Reds", or "Paulo's Red army" doesn't come easily if we are playing in Black or Blue.
I like the red shirts & white shorts, but then I am an old git!
I wonder what you guys think.

So you are an Old Git, well that makes three of us, you, me and Mondy. Four if you included Bassett, but i think he is still early 30's.
Anyroad, I think you are correct in your assumptions based on identity, and all that goes with it.
Last night the game must have been played at a terrific pace in the first half, and I would have settled for a draw before kick off, no doubt about that given our input into Saturdays game at Leicester.
Three up at half time and then Bodin gets his first, brilliant.
I have listened to old Luggy, I quite like and respect the bloke tbh, and I reckon some of his players will have had their spherical s well and truly kicked on the training ground today. I think his players thought we would be tuckered out, wrong !!!. I'll take the three points but Creepies are on 26 games as opposed to our 27 on the same points as well. I don't trust Evans either, nasty piece of work..
Any way red shirts and white shorts it is.

Really big win last night and like are friend roots said on the other thread a six pointer. To be able to bring on players like de vita and ferry is a real bonus. Feeling now that we are well on our way to maintaining our good form and being strong enough to keep us in the top three.

I had to visit a dyehouse in Leicester today, not far from the ground. Damn cold, so wore my Town scarf. It caused a bit of banter, but most comments were encouraging.
- Best away support seen there all season
- Lucky to have sraped through
- We won't have a hope against Norwich
Ok, I got a bit of stick about how I wanted my turnips cooked for dinner etc.
Salt of the earth, Leicester fans, most of them anyway.

It has taken until now before I could put finger to keyboard!! Well done Swindon, you were considerably more up for this than Southend were. Defensively we were so naive and you made us pay the price.
Seems to me that everytime we discuss the two sides on this board, you come along and stuff us, so I'm glad we don't have to play you again this season. The only consolation is that last time in the league we went on an unbeaten run after the away game at your place, hopefully it will happen again.
Good luck for the rest of the season, God, have I got the hump!

Roots,
What goes around, comes around. I have been supporting our lot for nearly 50 years. Southend have always been there, long may it continue. Maybe we have had a few more ups than you, but we have also had our downs.
But, us supporters don't really have a choice once we decide who to follow.
Not crowing, we needed the 3 points. A long way to go yet.

Thanks for the logic and wisdom Red, and your'e absolutely right, there is still along way to go.
It's the way we rolled over that got to me. I'll get over it with the next win but I think the hump will still be in place until then.

Like gollum says roots,
a long way to go. I still think both southend and us won't drop as many points as crawley and chelt which should hopefully conclude in a happy ending for both of us. Southend haven't become a bad team because of one result. Keep the faith roots. And yes although I like the black kit swindon are red through and through !

Good to hear it from the other side, so thanks for that ROOTS. I must admit after our game up at Leicester I would have settled for a draw just before the kick off whistle, and I wasn't alone in that. As each game goes by it is becoming more and more evident that diCanio really does have them buzzing. Have a look at swindonadvertiser.co.uk today to read some of his inner thoughts. The more you hear from this man the more you want to hear. Some very deep thoughts, very enlightening.
