Darren Potter - any thoughts?

So we have another midfielder - does anyone know what he is like?
And does this mean anything for our current midfield line-up - is someone on the way out? Hope not.

Edgy_owl, as i've heard he's technically gifted at retaining possesion? he would be in a dud if he played in your side as all you did all season was hoof and run! im sure robbo knows what hes got, and a player who suits our entertaining football model.

Watching him under 3 different managers with different styles of play and failing to make an impact in any of the teams says he's a dud. Sorry.

You say that dons fan, but be fair you saw us once, maybe twice last season, so its unfair to call us a hoof ball side. I recall when we played you at Hillsborough, you snapped us down twice when we had certain goals and I thought you were a very dirty team, but I don't paint you with the team of thugs brush.

As regards to Potter. He might play well for you. He did well in the early days in the Championship, but in league 1 where games seem more dogged, he simply wasn't up to it. Time will tell, but even if he does well I don't think any of our fans will regret letting him go. He just wasn't doing it and next season he wouldn't either. It might work for you, but I wouldn't show arrogance until he has had any games for you and you can say we are wrong about it.

Its a good job he isn't still playing for you then, but expect him to score against you when we play.

I remember last year Donny fans telling us how bad Lewis Guy was and tbh, whenever he played he done the job and done it well.

I don't judge players untill I see tem, or atleast, I don't like to.
He's playing in a completley different side, different layout and surrounded by different players. He could be a success.

I'd also like to point this as a possible replacement for Carrington that we may not have had the chance to do.
Harry Potter, The lad Williams, Glees, Levs and George are signs that we have a stable midfield.
Just need a few wingers imo, and Robbo likes his wingers so I can see us getting at least two more.

Hopefully things will turn out well for this fella and for us!

Any employee albeit a footballer or a car worker works better under one manager than another. I thinks it's a poor show when someone is condemed before he has kicked a ball in anger for a new club, lets see what happens. Robinson must have seen the player and is confident of his abilities<

Lets hope we can sign his brother Harry as well

I believe he's magic.

He was part of one of the most ineffective, clueless midfield group we've suffered at Hillsborough for years, so to be fair to him, he didn't gain in confidence or stature during his time there. Nervous and edgy, he generally passed sideways, and didn't want the ball. He became unpopular and slated for his apparent laziness, lack of control and poor distribution. Under a different system with better support, he will improve. He had to go, the move will do him good.
