Your thoughts on the Derby game

I thought we were excellent in the first half and didn't give Derby a chance. Shame to hear Nigel Clough moaning about his team's first half performance and how they should have had three penalties and not once mentioning the slight possibility that his team were outplayed in the first half. Young Corey Smith was a revelation and a lot that was creative stemmed from him - and Tonge showed his experience and I think will be an excellent acquisition for us once he is fully match fit. But the first half was a real team performance and we ran our socks off as well. Good tactics from Hillcroft.

Second half? We got the jitters and started to tire a bit. Doyle gave away the free kick that the poisoned dee dar dwarf scored from - but he's always been guilty of that sort of thing - and it showed trust in him to put him on the pitch. Perkins started to tire - and we began to panic and play too deep at times. McNulty was a makeshift left back - and I am not going to criticise but there were a few heart in the mouth moments with him. Derby played better in the second half and yes, there should have been a penalty for hand ball, but the officials missed it. You win some, you lose some. We now have a new left back in the squad and this win has brought us closer to 50 points with plenty of games left. Let's hope we can push on and get a bit closer to the play offs.
