Once, in the early 80s, went to Upton Park to watch England U21 v Poland U21. Poles as good as gold with their Solidarity banners etc. Whole bank of England 'supporters' giving stiff-arm salutes and chanting Sieg Heil. Have rarely felt so ashamed of my country…
