I know there's been a bit of discussion about the youngsters but I do feel that watching their matches gives added excitement to be a United fan. I wont start hyping any of them to go on to become first team players but it's exciting to just watch them for what they are at the moment and yesterday they were far more superior to their Swansea opposition yesterday.
They play with a style so Barca esque and every single player seems to have great technique. We were without 10 players yesterday but I wouldn't want to single out any player because it would be unfair on every other player on the pitch as they were all superb. Although there are 3 players I think will push for a reserve spot next year, Blackett, Van Velzen and possibly Barmby.
It's no coincidence that we're starting to see the benefits of Rene Meulensteen's work in his previous role Technical skills development coach.
From Manutd.com: "Rene was the man charged with giving United's players the armoury to out-manouevre any opponent in any given situation.
The affable Dutchman, who retired from a playing career in the Dutch lower leagues at the age of 29, is in his second spell at Old Trafford. Rene first arrived in Manchester in 2001 and quickly set about overhauling United's approach to coaching children in the club's Academy.
He changed United’s coaching syllabus, concentrating on the technical area of the game, specifically the coaching of “tricks and moves", which Rene believes defines the difference between a good player and great player."

My point is, there's normally links to watch the reserve and academy matches so if you want to watch good football then watch the young United and you won't be disappointed.

Totally agree mate – we have Mutv at home and although you have to put up with some rubbish programs and badly acted adverts the live reserve, academy, youth cup and friendly games makes it well worth it.
I think the 3 goals in five minutes killed the game off to be fair – going in at half time Swansea were pretty much out of it. People are running down Swansea but they beat liverpool in the previous round and those 3 goals came from simple bad mistakes not really good play from us – I’m not convinced that this years team has the solidness and muscle as last years but there are certainly a few players that have caught the eye. Barmby looks a good prospect as does Blackett. Akangameni I noticed last year in the academy and also Janursek who I think was injured last night

I love watching the youth team. Barmby impressed me very much the other night.
Was shocked when there were 10 players out and we still performed to a very high quality. They just need to keep it up

Did anyone watch the game the other week vs everton? I missed it but apparently Ross Barkeley was running the show for them. A few days later we sell Gibson to Everton for pretty much pittance – perhaps it’s a gesture of goodwill for a future bid?

I saw that game. He was really lively and did seem to contribute a lot to the Everton team. Looks like a bright prospect.
Who knows, it may be. I'm thinking Everton would want at least 10mil+.

He looks like a top talent – and im sure ourselves and the likes of city/Chelsea spurs will all be keeping an eye on him
There’s also the chance that Fergie maybe sees him as a “replacement” of sorts or at least perhaps a player with the same potential as Morrison which is another reason he let me move on
