End of an era

To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. The Rhino's have simply imploded. What has happened to them? For several seasons they were simply brilliant to watch but now they look like they don't even know each other.

I'm sick and tired of seeing too many balls that are so high the receiving player has to jump in the air before catching the ball which slows his momentum and the amount of times they simply pass it to a 'big' man who just runs straight down the middle is beginning to dampen my enthusiasm.

Leeds have far too many old players now and the announcement by Senior to continue for another year has left me disappointed. Yes he was a great player but move on Keith or retire gracefully.

Leeds are simply a mid table team and it will be a very long time before they are competing for honours again.

Webb - A spent force. Lost a lot of pace. Loves chucking stupid suicide passes and doesn't seem to want to take a tackle?

Smith - Having a poor season, seems lacking in confidence (very strange for him). A mystery really.

Delaney - Usually quite safe but lacks pace & creativity. More like a 2nd row than a centre.

Senior - Too old & slow for playing center. Regularly gets caught out of position in defense.

Burrow - For a scrum-half, he's poor at passing and his kicking game is very average. One trick pony?

JJB - A spent force. Gets owned by opposition too often.

Ali Lau - A spent force. Still has a bit of strength, but lost his pace and his handling's gone to pot.

Cross - Poor plodder (gone, than god).

Burgess - Was having a decent run of form, but too little too late IMO. Penalty/error machine (gone, thank god).

Kirke - Tries hard, but naturally not a skillful player and not good enough. Will be on a low wage though.

Hauraki - Too inconsistent - either great or rubbish (more often the latter).

Some of the lads above have served us well - and were obviously a massive part of our recent success - but a lot of them are either over the hill or just not good enough and need to go. A mass clear-out at the end of the season is needed IMO.

I'm still undecided on McDermott. There's obviously something going wrong in camp. However, I'm not a fan of sacking coaches mid-season and I doubt it'd help much anyway (see all above). I could possibly see him being a victim of the clear-out if things don't improve.

It seems like Leeds have had their `golden ` years but will probably still make the 8 it would be foolish to wright them off completly the season still has a way to go.

If Leeds don't win it I'd like Warrington to do it. Under Smith he has made them a great team to watch. Worst thing Leeds ever did letting him go.

Leeds went back under McLennan and now McDermott, coaching is key and the current guy is never a super league coach he was poor for Quins they finshed one off the bottom last year a bizarre appointment.

Hetherington will never sack him either so a few year sin the wilderness now.

Re; Senior, A few years ago when I read this bloke was selling items of memorabilia on e-bay I thought there and then, this is a player who is going to play on a season or two for the money only and will end up being a laughing stock.
He is not the first and won't be the last.......

well, we all said it didnt we, all bar the odd whino fan said this would happen but they are blinkered beyond belief, they MAY still make top 8 but they are not a patch on the team a couple of season ago, you cannot stand still in this game, standing still is a step back, you have to move forward and they have failed to do that

What sort of money are we talking about........if Senior does play on, what will it cost Leeds..

14 - 6 over Wigan so far
doesn't appear to be an end of an era just yet.....regardless of the final score...never give up hope.
