I think the antipathy towards Russia is because it is an openly corrupt society.

I am not naive enough to say there is no corruption in the UK, but Russia is in a different league, and I would also seriously challenge just how democratic Russia really is.

You can define 'democracy' in according to the culture of a particular state.

I think FIFA did a good thing awarding Russia the tournament. Football is for building bridges, uniting societies and focuses the global eye of the world on the host country. Giving it to USA et al to me is as useless as rain that rains in the ocean, only that the ocean rain is better as it fixes oxygen into the sea water to enable fish to breath! The fact that we are here from different nationalities testifies to the strength of football...and long may it live

many sport news sites said on their coverage as only banana is thrown at him. but I don't think it is only banana, you should expect many items could be thrown in this kind of situation. Of course, I have seen only one banana thrown. Look at this Daily mail link for example.

but the question is why? if anything were thrown at you, what would u feel mate? Any one is not born with his will of being African or American. Is anyone there born with his will of being black or white. Had we known when and how we were born, we would have chosen our parents.
