I'll leave all the penalty/Howard Webb stuff to the millions of other threads that will pop up over the next few hours. This will be purely about player performance.
Firstly, my man of the match goes to Rafael despite him going off before the comeback. When our defence looked shaky he was solid as a rock. He literally didn't get beaten by his man once, provided good support to Valencia and even won the headers that came his way. He's developing into a top class rightback and we're just praying he stays fit. Was only sacrificed due to a tactical change. Valencia did well offensively as you'd expect, but when put back into defence was caught out of position a few times.
The midfield: Yes it was a great comeback, but between scoring the second and third goals it was pretty evident that we had absolutely no drive from the midfield. Scholes, Carrick and Giggs were static and trying to all be the playmaker, waiting for movement ahead of them. We were crying out for someone to run at them and draw them out of position. The threat only increased when Giggs started to play wider, leading to his assist for the third.
I still would have liked to see Pogba come on instead of Scholes, who's passing was unusually poor. Yes Pogba is only 18, but he can run with the ball, and who thought a 17 year old Kiko Macheda would come on and score a crucial goal for us? Sometimes throwing in a wildcard can pay off.
Hopefully when Cleverley or Jones are back in midfield we'll have a more direct threat through the centre of the pitch.
Ashley Young: I don't like berating players, but he had a mare, and seemingly has never been good enough bar the 8-2 Arsenal game. Didn't think he was United quality to begin with, and I still don't now.
De Gea: Great save at the end which will hopefully boost his confidence. Importantly our fans are behind him and the criticism is mostly coming from fans of other teams.
Final thought: The most satisfying comeback for a long time, just because I couldn't stand the smirk on Terry's face when they showed him after the second Chelsea goal. I hope he goes home and sheds a few more Terry Tears tonight.

My thoughts on performance today

Bit harsh on Ashley Young. It's his first game for a while and he probably wouldn't have been thrown into such a difficult one if Nani were available.
I thought the team played well as a whole today. The goal right after half time flattered Chelsea a bit and for 70 minutes I genuinely thought United outplayed them.
A deserved point won fair and square.

I agree, rafa is class and Young should never start on the wings if Nani and Valencia are fit!
