Im a gooner but the kid irritates the hell out of me.We have seen selfish players before, Ronaldo, Nani but what grates me about Sturridge is the way he loses posession in dangerous areas exposing his team to counter attacks.
Incidentally the challenge on Evra happened after AVB had screamed at him from the touchline for not tracking back.
He is such a liability its not even funny, I think AVB's paytience snapped yesterday and a cold stare was all he could give as he substituted him.
I thought Luiz had a great game apart from the Hernandez goal.funny how suddenly Luiz looks a better defender than Ferdinand and Evans.United's defence minus Vidic is the worst among the top 6.
Bloody football hey!
Daniel Sturridge

Bluff
Any 2 of Ferdinand, Smalling, Evans, Vidic and Jones sheet all over Merteslowker, Vermijured, Kscielny, Djouroh-dear, or Squillawful.

So now we have the worst defence AND worst midfield in the top6. How on earth are we 2nd?

geez united fans are touchy, I used nani and Ronaldo because I think they are among the finsest wigers in the game who were or are still selfish.
Thats not bias, its a FACT.Maybe I could have also chosen Di Maria but I dont rate him that much.It wasnt a slight on the 2 portuguese internationals they are selfish players, even the pro madrista press has alluded to that regarding Ronaldo.
With regards to the uinited defence, the reason why I cite them is because they have escaped censure over the years.the focus has always been on Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham.now without Vidic, De gea was the scape goat but we cant be fooled anymore. When Evans went to sleep and allowed Torres the freedom of London before he promptly fluffed the chance that was awful defending of the highest order.
Kolcienley is miles better than any defender you have except for Vidic, so is Vermalean. It hurts but it’s the truth.

AVB was a fool to let a fit of pique like that ruin the game. He has no idea how to man-manage.

You're having a go at our defence when it's the 3rd best defense in the league? Sorry but what position is your defence? Leaking 4-8 goals in certain games didn't help it much did it?

Oh thought you're an Arsenal fan

Sturridge started the season off on fire, he started our best player but as the season has gone on I've become increasingly frustrated with him. Yes he is still a dangerous player and I have high hopes for him but when Kalou returns from the ACON I'd be tempted to drop him for a couple of games to see if it gets the desired reaction.
He is become so selfish it's unbelievable, I'm surprised there hasn't been a bust up on the pitch over his selfish decision making to be honest. I'm all for strikers having the selfish and ruthless streak but it's got to be measured and Sturridge needs to understand he's not playing centre forward.
There is this niggle in my mind that Sturridge maybe doing this on purpose to engineer a change in position to get the central role he craves. The thing that annoys me is that I think Sturridge would thrive in a central role but his attitude hasn't been that of someone who deserves it.
Sturridge is one of those players that I rate but don't necessarily like. I can't warm to the guy but I appreciate his value to the squad. When I've seen him interviewed or on camera he comes across as arrogant, immature and frankly a dull young man. Compare that to someone like Lukaku who just gives off the right impressions of someone who is grateful to be there, he's enthusiastic and level headed. Sturridge just seems to have that vibe that so many kids have these days, that the world owes him something.
I think to say he's a liability though is unfair, he could do with working a bit harder to track back but his challenge on Evra was a bit unlucky and Evra did well to get his foot between Sturridge and the ball to win the penalty. It was a typical strikers challenge in the box, a tad naive but not exactly something he has made a habit of. Despite the ear bashing from AVB it was good at least to see a reaction for Sturridge.
I amp hopeful he can get his head down, learn from his mistakes and put in a bit of hard graft because at the moment I think he is believing his own hype and is a bit above his station. When on song and playing to his strengths and playing as a team player Sturridge can be one of our most potent weapons, when he's shooting on sight, ignoring his team mates and not pulling his weight he's a very different player. At 22 and now enjoying a regular starting role in the team I think Sturridge is at something of a cross roads in his career, making the right decisions now could facilitate the moulding of a very special player.

'funny how suddenly Luiz looks a better defender than Ferdinand and Evans'
Wow.
Do you acually watch Evans play? Or just go by what every other ABU says?
Because he has been brilliant recently, back to playing the way he is 2 years ago
I rate Sturridge, but agree on his decision making, he is a lot like Johnson in that department. Either way, I'd take either over Walcott

Sturridge is nowhere near a liability
