rumours linking us with neven subotic from dortmund, according to rumours vidic has given fergie glowing reviews about him, from what ive seen of him he's always impressed, with vidic in his thirties, rio injuries and we always seem to have a defensive crisis every year will fergie invest in another defender?
will phil jones continue to play more in midfield than in defence, paving way for another defender?
btw ferdinand and vidic would be my first choice defenders every time
neven subotic,do we need another defender?

You really think so? I think his passing has been slack, he doesn't bring the ball out of defence like he used to and he's not been nearly as dominant in the air as we've come to expect.
His reading of the game is still superb but sometimes it's not enough

we need a replacement for Rio next season.
Vidic and Subotic Smalling and Evans. seems like a good four. We also need a right back.
Jones and Carrick will be our defensive mids, and Cleverly and Scholes (or his replacement) our creative mids.

I think obviously Rio is not at his best but by no means is Phil Jones better than him at CB, Evans and Smalling are closer but again not as good

hummells is the best defender at dortmund and in germany as a whole

I'd agree Hummels is better, but Subotic is also quality

I notice that Evans has recently won you lot over? I remember a couple months ago when I read many saying how bad he was

Evans has done well(ish) particularly alongside Ferdinand, but the likes of Hummels/Subotic are on a different level altogether.

yeah it's just that people were literally slaughtering him on here if i remember correctly
think it was the Everton game

Yeah he has had a lot of stick, but I think when Fergie sold Brown & O'Shea that indicated he trusted his younger defenders such as Evans and Smalling and that means we've established some kind of pecking order and not a constant rotation which is useful
