Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur played out a drab goalless draw at Anfield on Monday night in the Barclays Premier League.
Liverpool had the majority of the possession and looked like the team who wanted to win it more, but Spurs were happy to sit back to play for a point. For all their possession, chances were few and far between for the Reds, whose best chance fell to Andy Carroll midway through the second half, but he could not get it properly under control and blazed it over the bar.
Tottenham had a chance to snatch an unlikely winner towards the end as Gareth Bale found himself one on one with Pepe Reina, but Liverpool were let off thanks to a combination of Reina and the defence.
Luis Suarez returned on 66 minutes after nine games out to make his first appearance since Boxing Day, and although he looked lively he could not find the winner for Liverpool. He had a chance late on with a header, and also had another chance when he received the ball in the box but was crowded out before he could get the ball properly under control.
The result leaves Liverpool in seventh place, four points behind fourth-placed Chelsea.

Not bad Jan. Didn't know that they were matriarchal. The females run the show. Not a good advert for feminism.

Disappointing. We were all over them and should have won that. Eight home draws is a shocking record, we need to start picking up wins and fast.

Spurs played for the draw. They got it. They're a good team. I'm ok with that.

Bale didnt like Kelly did he, he swapped flanks at one point.
Johnson showed the young talented Walker that he isnt quite near his standard yet out playing him on his weaker side too.
Skrtel was a monster, Skrtel Johnson and Kelly were the only positives for me, a bit dissapointed but meh we have drew to lesser teams then tottenham at home this year.
Tottenham set up for the point and got it, with no manager 2 key players out fair play to them.

People talk about the draws. This draws fine, the others were the ones to worry about.

Jesus christ. Proper love in for Parker on Sky Sports. I think they've made Parker their English Lion instead of Terry.

We need to improve on set pieces and crossing! When teams win ugly its not from open play is it ?
We seriously do suck at them both i think we are the worse in the league at them and there was me thinking we bought adam downing to provide Carroll with them.
