One of the many quandaries in the England one day set up.. Just what exactly is his role? hes neither a batsman or bolwer..
Either chose a proper batsman or proper bolwer. As he personally offers nothing either way.
Luke Wright

Mybe England should try Wright as an opener as Lumb has never impressed me.
Also, Bell could then come back into the team.

i don't mind wright playing in the t20s, but i do mind wright playing in ODIs. england should play the quality batsmen like cook and trott and strauss in ODI, rather than mess around with players like wright

Exactly jezzer, you got the point there.
Cant get it why some people are against cook in the ODI.he's a proven test batsman.as such he is able to succeed in odi.also none better is there .

Luke Wright is probably the worst cricketer to EVER play for England in any form of cricket.

I have the feeling that both Lumb and Wright are selected because they were both part of the WC team. Considering Bell surprised everyone when opening in the two T20 games in Oz, Lumb is very fortunate.

Lump is a quality T20 batsman, hence his selection for the IPL
Luke Wright is a village cricketer at best and it beggars belief that he gets selected.

His quality was not apparent yesterday.
The story from Broad that Bell was left out for an extra bowler is ridicules, why would you need seven bowlers? and wright didn't bowl anyway.

Broad also said that the player/s in for Bell were all in form.
Well, Bopara isn't.

Cook and kiewsweter might make a good opening combination. The problems have always been the middle overs when Englad face spin. The scoring rate plummets downwards..

That's because no-one has grasped how to hit the spinners straight down the ground.
The Somerset no3 was awesome yesterday.
