So the mighty Spurs fans have been wumming all week about what a great team they have and how they could win the Premier League. Their performance at Anfield proved to be very different from the hype.
A big white bus was promptly parked and they hung on for dear life all game long. Had it not been for our usual poor finishing we would have swept Spurs into the dustbin along with their spurious claims of winning the title.
Liverpool is not the club it once was, but steadily we are improving. Spurs are what they always have been, a failure when the pressures on.
I'll take my team any day over that bunch of wannabes.

"we had half our 1st team out today and you couldn't break us down"
So what your saying is you have a good 1st XI but your reserves aren't up to it?

Reserves were all injured, we had 4 players on bench who have never played for the club before
Liverpool played their best and still could not score
Mind the gap

"80's football"
Maybe it is and maybe it isn't but whatever works works.
Your lot seem to go for with the plan of sticking as many big strong men on the pitch as possible to kick lumps out of the oppo until they wilt.
Quite reminiscent of English football in the 50's until the Magical Magyars showed them up, wouldn't you say?

It was funny when their defensive midfielder is their best player.
We didn't take our chances, as always, we created more than spurs did. The cat had more impact on the game than 150m Gareth Bale.

"half our 1st team out", "reserves were all injured"...
Far be it from me to invoke the soft southern girls' blouses cliché but then again...

I would have though from the way these big Spurs jessies were talking up 150m Bale, that he would have beaten us all on his own. Instead his bottled a one on one with Reina, and resorted to booting the ball into row z and coming up with a very unconvincing dive.
Still dust down the trophy cabinet and throw away the old quality street wrapper inside Spurs have now won the Bale didn't do very well at Anfield cup.

What I dont get is all the "Spurs parked the bus" trash. Liverpool were the home team, they were, according to some of their fans on here, going to avenge the 4-0 thrashing we gave them earlier in the season but they did not. Furthermore the stats show that Liverpool had 52% possession and Spurs had 48%, they had 15 shots with 10 on target and Spurs had 9 with 6 on target. This hardly qualifies their excuse that we "parked the bus". Whats more we passed the ball on the floor pretty well and a lot more than Pool. Yes, there were times when we hoofed out of our penalty box but in the main, I am very happy with the point we gained.
