My main gripe with modern day rappers is the fact that most of them do not seem to have any plans of passing a message on. Most of it is a load of self praise sprinkled with an excessive amount of punchlines. Lil Wayne's Carter IV album is the best example of this. Almost got platinum in its first week but the message and lack of intensity in his rap ain't a patch on former great rappers.

Sending messages out in songs doesnt shift units. Making bubblegum rap does and brings in the $$$$

I understand that its all about the money these days and that's why the industry is as crowded as it currently is. I like the fact that Eminem has been able to keep his intensity and still appeal to today's crowd. I felt he would fade off gradually but he really recovered.

European rap, French, Polish, Czech and even some English, is still full of real enthusiasm, real punchlines and real message, keeping it close to underground. The opposite of this bliing **** that comes out of US of A.
