Innocent! Is that goodbye to Harry then?

Well Harry has been cleared and his good character is intact. That is excellent news for Harry, but is it good news for us Spurs supporters?

The way is now clear for England to approach Levy for permission to talk to Harry about the England job.

If the meeting between Bernstein & Capello does not go well, then Harry could even be offered the role earlier..........................

So its a Catch 22 result I think, I would not begrudge Harry the chance to manage England & I think he would be good at it too..............................However it would probably mean all his team leaving the Lane too, so it would be back to scratch for whoever comes in. (I know the would have brought most of their own guys in anyway.)

So what are the alternatives?

If Harry goes, who would we like in charge?

I do not think Mourinho would suit us personally, but he would make us difficult to beat.

Moyes works wonders on a very limited budget, however would he retain the "Spurs way"?

Coyle I think has put himself out of the race.

Martinez is still a little off the pace for me.

Rogers has Swansea playing some amazing football with in all honesty some decent, but not great players.

Do we look at Hiddink, Loewe or some other continental manager?

If we were going continental then the obvious one for me would be Pepe Guardiola, if his wages were not too demanding.

However as I have stated previously I would actually welcome back Glenn, he has matured and with the players he would inherit he would not be the best player out on the training ground, which evidently was one of the problems the first time around.

There was nothing wrong when he managed England either, apart from his "faux pas" re disabled people, he had the team beginning to play really good football & he can make tough decisions too...........dropping Gascoigne for instance.

His record as England manager is only surpassed by Sir Alf Ramsey & Capello..................................

Harry will never take the England job, it's too hands off and totally unrewarding.

I mean with no transfers to gain 10% from, Harry will have to put his hands in his pockets.

And by the same virtue you are unable to be critical of him.

Keep the personal insults coming by the way. It's a sign of low self-esteem which, all things considered, is understandable. Get it out, breath, wooosa....

Moyes fails on two of my criteria.
The Swansea manager on paper is far better than Moyes.

There's no way Harry will turn down the England job when offered it. No way.
To think otherwise is burying your head in the sand.

Also sorry but we need bigger names than Rodgers and Coyle and Moyes. We are at a stage now where we should demand the best names.

Finally I fear that this summer Modric and maybe others will go once Harry has left. We need to plan properly for this. Identify a new manager early and replacement top names for those departing.

Cheers G &S

If it's sense, it's common sense. I would put everything i own on Harry leaving now. It wouldn't hurt so much if he were to be a success for England, but the problems are too deep-rooted for a 64 year old manager to solve. It's the structure that's wrong, not the managers.

I just hope Levy turns up at his door with a wacking great big new contract for him, so big he couldn't turn it down. That is the only thing that might sway him but even that may not work.

It's the end of an era boys, but it feels like we've only just started.

Spurs could do worse than bringing back Martin Jol.

"Spurs could do worse than bringing back Martin Jol"

Comoli set the roots for the squad we have now.
BMJ had them playing the Spurs way for 2 seasons.

We're not sure how much of the Spurs play during the BMJ end days was due to him alone, or interference from Comoli +/- Levy.
