The England Saga

Capello has resigned, so I was wondering what people's thoughts were.

I don't really care much for the national side, or Capello/Terry for that matter, but I just can't see why the FA have done what they have done. Despite the fact he shouldn't have been after his previous history, Terry was captain. Only taking into account the current situation, I cannot understand why the FA have stripped him of the captaincy before the allegations have been proved. What ever happened to "Innocent until proven guilty"?

I fully understand Capello's stance on this situation, and in my opinion it brings to light yet again how daft the FA are (although still miles behind Venky's).

Totally agree. I don't like Terry but since when was guilty until proven innocent and acceptable way to judge someone's possible misdemeanours? The FA are just one more repugnant element to the whole sorry England fiasco.

Players who play better for their club side because their club pays them more.
Managers who aren't english.
An association that seems determined to emulate FIFA in its stupidity, self-promotion and meddling.

Capello should of gone after the World Cup but to go over Terry who has not been found guilty yet is wrong
But still i'm glad he's gone we may see England play better and with more passion

Disagree - innocent until proven guilty is fine for his court appearance. But to leave him in post and captain after the CPS have decided there is a case to answer (should not be going to court otherwise) would not be correct IMO. It is a position which should inspire respect and command obedience from other players.

If he could cause harm by staying in situ, then he should be removed. There are precedents - those working for companies whereby they are thought to have committed a serious offence would be suspended - because of the divisive effect they can have.

OTOH, why not bring the manager into the decision making process. Why cause this situation to arise. Have to confess disappointment in Capello - thought he would be a better, stronger manager, able to build a quality team together. Waiting for an England manager to really do that.

No Official word on why, but lets assume it was because he wasn't happy with the FA acting without him.

IF that's the case then Kudos to him for standing up for principles.

Anyone really worried for Rovers that the FA might try and poach Kean (and not because he looks like an egg)?

That would be brilliant.

At least Kean would have the backing of the nation judging by their criticism of us Rovers fans
