No manager and no captain with the euro 4 months away and mangers that have done nothing with their club careers (apart from getting teams to mid table relegated) to date being linked with the job (not including Redknapp), this is a truly f-ed up day for english football in my opinion.

Lets be HONEST here, England currently has a dearth of world class players at it's disposal. Hart definately, Rooney occasionally but other than that a bunch of VERY AVERAGE players, the best manager in the world isn't going to get us that far so lets stop worrying about it.

The England manager job is probably one of the most poisoned chalices in football.
Success is expected, and Capello has just been sacked, despite being statistically the best manager in England's history;

Noone is a miracle worker, and just because Harry Redknapp is English and likeable doesn't mean he'll do any better....

Terrible article, rife with blind ignorance. Capelli has one of the best win percentages of any England manager to date. Prior to the World Cup he had done such an excellent job that Inter came sniffing and the FA had to rewrite a clause into his contract. We were playing expansive football. The World Cup debacle that followed was as mystifying as it was depressing. Anyone with half a brain cell could see that if you send out a team with such established players as England had at their disposal against the likes of Algeria only to play so dismally, then the blame has to lie with the players. Algeria should be so far off England's ability that we shouldn't have even needed a manager and we ought to have won.
