Hello all, I just caught up with Sunday's Impact broadcast and wanted to share a few thoughts.
PRODUCTION VALUES
Considering this was TNA's biggest ever Impact live audience, and the first ever filmed overseas, I was a bit surprised they didn't do a little more with the arena to provide a sense of occasion. There were no banners, no lighting, no pyro, and I didn't even see a big screen for the live audience (though may have missed this). Even the barricades were ugly to look at.
NO GIMMICK MATCHES
They also didn't play to their strengths over WWE, which is in putting on an non-PG gimmick match. I'm not saying I expected barbed wire and thumbtacks (drawing pins to us guys), but they missed a great opportunity to wow a live audience with a steel cage match, an X match, or some table fun.
KEY HOLES IN THE ROSTER
No Jeff Hardy, no RVD, no Kurt Angle, no AJ Styles, no Mickie James, no Velvet Sky. For my money, that's the four biggest wrestlers in the company and the two biggest knockouts all missing. No disrespect to James Storm but involving him in the two biggest matches of the show would have left me feeling a little bit ripped off if I'd been in attendance.
TNA=T&A
No offence to Tara and Gail Kim, but a first time viewer would think that TNA isn't a company with a roster of hot female talent.
Yes it was nice to see Sting and Hogan back in the UK, but having been to both a TNA House Show in Manchester and an Impact taping in Orlando in the past 18 months, I expected more from this show and feel that TNA dropped the ball.

I'd rather watch paint dry then TNA, WWE for me. I'm not an avid follower but occasionally watch events leading up to and after Wrestlemania.

TNA is like Hollyoaks for me, I watch it for a couple of months, then realise it's driving me insane and stop watching it.

I love your 'no offence but Jame's Storm is carp' and 'no offsense but gail kim and tara are not that hot'
But yea, agree that it was totally underwhelming. It doesn't have the tackiness of WCW (good) but it is really missing some kind of spark. Bobby Roode, James Storm, Styles. Compare them to say The Rock, Steve Austin and Jericho, TNA has a long way to go to recreate the attitude era
