Pardew for England?

As an outsider to the situation unfolding I think Alan Pardew is a good shout for the English job.

Redknapp might be a good motivator but I’m not entirely convinced by him. He seems to be very popular with the media and fans, and really Spurs are playing great football, however there is that feeling that he only has a Plan A, also he is a bit of a cheque book manager, although he is shrewd with his purchases and buys well, in internationals he will have make do with what he has. Also Levy will fight tooth and nail to keep him.

I think Pardew is a good shout. His current job at Newcastle is similar to the English position. Newcastle is historically a big team that was punching below their weight. The fans had high expectations and demands that every manager failed to live up to, like England. Pardew came in and adapted the style of play, didn't spend much and also created a hard working team that fights for each other and is greater than the sum of their parts.

So? You asked what other managers had won the league, they were Dog leash and Ancelotti.

If you only wanted recent managers, you should have said.

Redknapp will and should get it but lets be honest, he's still stuck with the same bunch that capello had, plus i can see harry falling out with the stuffed shirts at our FA in the near future.

someone asked who the last english manager was to win the league.

i wasnt asking who had won it, the point i was trying to make was apart from the three i mentioned ( and ancelloti who i forgot) no manager has won it in god knows how long english or foreign.

Yes I'm throwing his name in because he's English as that seems to be the criteria. I've heard 2 names in the media 'Arry and Woy so I think Pardew should be considered as well.

IMHO the only criteria for England manager should be a good motivator, someone who can get an average bunch of players playing as a good team because thats what we have just an AVERAGE bunch of OVERHYPED and OVERRATED players - quarter finals is our bench mark beyond that would be a sucess.
