Where to start in this utterly shambolic mess ?
Four months before Euro 2012 and England have no manager, no captain, no clue, no idea and absolutely no hope.
Mike Bassett: England manager was a very funny movie. It´s just a shame that the FA are doing their best to make that movie a reality.
England and the FA - what an utter shambles

Capello lost his job because of a media witchunt that the FA were too weak kneed and afraid to stand up too
the FA state that it is very important that the public get what the public want

I don't think there's been a team Hiddink's managed at international level that hasn't meet their minimum objective. Turkey & Russia weren't expected to qualify for those tournaments, but he got them close.
Then you have certain other achievements on his part that no manager on this earth will ever replicate. South Korea will NEVER reach the semis of the WC again (call it luck but that team should've been rock bottom of their opening group), it'll be awhile before Russia reach the semis of the Euros again, he was a kick away on both occasions from taking Holland to successive major tournament finals (Euro 96 and WC98). He got Australia to their first world cup.
The man has got countries naming national day's in his honour for god sake. Where Mourinho is the shot of adrenaline for underachieving club sides, Hiddink is the adrenaline shot for underachieving national sides. He's the only candidate, and he publicly stated he wants the job??? What the hell are we waiting for!!!!

Sorry, correction ..... it was the quarter at Euro 96 where Holland lost to France on pens. My bad.

How one player can completely destroy Englands preparation four months beforehand is amazing.

What about that member of public who got it all wrong as we all know by now that JT said "Anton you blaggard". For all we know That MOP was a plant of the FA.

Reading a lot of the stuff that gets posted, I think it's important to separate Terry, Capello and the England board.
First of all, Terry is innocent till proven guilty - simple. I don't care what happens to him but the hatred people have for this man - and he's just a man - is unbelievable. There are really nasty - and I mean NASTY people in pro football and Terry is not really one of them. He is just villified because he's an easy target and because he plays for Chelsea. My guess is the court will see the video evidence in which Terry is flanked by Mikel and Cole and seen to make racist comments. However, Terry is already talking with his word obscured by players just before the lip read statement comes out of his mouth. What was he saying before? Was he saying ... 'I never said ......'???? Who knows - maybe not. Point is there is more than sufficient doubt and a guilty verdict would be difficult to extract.
As for Capello. I don't like him and you're probably better off without him - he shouldn't be there anyway IMO - BUT - IN THIS CASE HE'S RIGHT!!!! The FA went behind his back, they should have spoken with him first, let him know. And as Capello said, aren't the Brititsh all about 'Innocent till proven guilty'?
Finally, the boars. Only the English FA could once again commit Hari-Kari on the eve of an important competition!!! What happens in their offices. Do they just want to make problems for themselves and the national team? It is unbelievable that you do this to yourselves year in and year out.

Gives us an excuse when we fail miserably.....
its not the players / managers fault.....it was X or Y factor....

4 mths? Hardly short notice is it? Will the players, established internationals, have to learn a new code of play or adapt to a new system of laws???
Get real...

What ??
Russia were more than expected to qualify for that World Cup and if I remember they were in quite an easy group yet still failed to qualify.
Believe me I love Hiddink and what he did for Chelsea in his short time with us but there is no getting away from his sub-standard performances as a manager in international football in recent times.
