With Torres having another barren goal spell, the defense of him has now reverted to saying how much more he brings to the team besides goals.

This reminds me of Heskey. Offered little goal threat for England, yet his supporters talked about how much better he made everyone else play. So did the England managers who always picked him, yet no observer could understand what he was contributing on the pitch.

Liverpool fans are like this with Carroll. Some United fans claimed Bebe was a great prospect aswell.

Is the Torres situation now so bad that you feel compelled to say he's playing well, no matter what his form is in reality?
