Alan Hansen has been commenting on Jay Spearing's progress in his Liverpool career. Players like Jamie Carragher & Steven Gerrard always gave Jay a ringing endorsement in their books and now Hansen has added his name to the list of admirers with this quote:
"He's a typical Liverpool player: he gets it, he gives it, he always takes it and that's what makes it so difficult to shift him"
Sounds like he likes Jay a little too much if you ask me.

Thought he palyed well v Spurs, always looking for it and played it simple, kept the ball moving.
That siad he gave the ball away a few times but all midfielders do that, he needs games to get more experience, I think we have an able deputy to Lucas in Jay and 1 thing I've noticed for sure is we are a better team with a player like Jay in the team then we are without.

I wasn't convinced a year and a half ago. I honestly thought if he wasn't a local lad he wouldn't be near the side.
He proved me very wrong.

He has improved a lot, and I think there is more to come from him.
He used to score goals regularly for the reserves/academy.
As he grows in confidence I reckon he will prove a very good player.

I will support him every time he has the shirt on but unfortunately he's not a top top player, he's probably lower level Premier or championship
