You were the one who said it was an Everton FC supporter who 'snitched' on him.

If the person who reported to him gets paid to weed out false claimants then its not exactly snitching is it,he was doing his job to save the taxpayer from being fleeced.

I write my opinions, they are not facts. I can copy and paste from wiki too, I can post links to back up something factually when needed. The whole point on this thread was the over-blown claims comment. I haven't had a go at Evertonians but snitches. My opinion doesn't change on whoever the snitch was. Should I have said that I'd read up on it and it wasn't an Evertonian? I don't think makes any difference to my view of him being snitched on. Did you think if I knew it wasn't an Evertonian then suddenly it's ok then? If it came out it was an LFC fan, my view is the same, I can't stand snitches.

I read up on the story yesterday and saw the wiki page and an interview with Smith in a newspaper from a few years ago (not posted here) - He still believes it was an Evertonian and someone who knew the man who snitched had contacted him - but that's not as important to the story imo as the amount he supposedly fiddled which was hugely over-inflated. I'm a university researcher by trade and that makes me come across as highly opinionated but I make no claims to having the truth - it's just my opinion. Sorry you don't like my style - I will leave you to your board.

Have you read back my posts? I have questioned the amount, what crime did Smith commit and made a reference to human decency by which I meant someone reporting an obviously disabled man as being sly. Where in all of that am I claining to have the truth? Know more than anyone else? Back pedalled?

The person who reported Tommy Smith worked in a department that was being defrauded by Tommy Smith.It is his job to report false claims,or does that matter as it does not fit in with your attempts to wriggle out of being totally owned by a few Evertonians
