Harry .. read todays Sun

ExclusiveBy SHAUN CUSTIS Published: Today at 00:11 THE England football team was plunged into a new racism storm last night after Stuart Pearce was named as caretaker manager following Fabio Capello's resignation. Pearce, 49, had to apologise to black star Paul Ince for allegedly racially abusing him when both were players.

The incident bears striking similarities to the racist rant charge facing John Terry, stripped of the England captaincy pending his court case.

The Football Association's decision to remove the armband from Terry led to Capello quitting on Wednesday.

Pearce, playing for Nottingham Forest, allegedly made the comments to Manchester United's Ince - an England colleague - during a Premier League game at Old Trafford in 1994.

Is this what you want Harry ?

The abuse of stuart Pearce today is what happens when you become England manager

Our tabloids are a joke and dont deserve a successful England team

its up to you Harry ,but your loved at spurs and it could be biggest mistake of your life

Redknapp takes England to a world cup semi final/final, he is a hero to the whole nation.

---------------------------

Do you really think England will make it to a semi final/ final in the near future?? As soon as we face Germany, Spain or Netherlands we are screwed. Until we get rid of the majority of the england squad we will never get that far in a tournament.

As much as i love Harry i just dont see him being able to fix England to be honest. The majority of players are so far up themselves its unreal and they just never seem to care when playing international football.

It doesnt help when most clubs dont want you to use their players during friendly games either

The England manager's job is a poisned chalice. For the life of me I can't see why a Premiership manager who sees most of the players in the league on a routine basis couldn't do the England job at the same time.

All our players are in the UK so he's not travelling far to watch any when his own team arent playing. Simples surely?

Although I agree the job comes with it's hazards (media being the worst), managing your national team is every managers dream job, he would be mad to turn it down. I like the current Spurs outfit so it's a shame 'Arry is likely to leave a work in progress.

The big question for you lot is can Levy get in somebody who is going to convince the likes of VDV, Modric, Ade and Bale that their ambitions can be fulfilled, yet a manager who can work on a budjet.

Did you think Greece or Danmark would win the Euro's?

Did we not beat Spain recently?

That's a stupid statement because if 'Arry takes the job, he can do what he wants with the squad, so if he agrees with you, then we are in with a shot? (in accordance to your logic)

I agree with most of what's been said here, and I don't want Harry to go, BUT Spurs were written off as top four contenders by many this year, nobody (even the most optimistic Spurs fan) expected us to be doing as well as we are this season, and look at where Harry has taken us from and to. These are the reasons why we want him to stay, why others want him to manage England, and, perhaps most importantly, why he will believe that if he can turn Spurs into the force he has, there's no reason why he can't do the same with England. He's already defying expectations, why couldn't he do that with England?

At the beginning of the season the answer to both of these questions would have been the same for most:

Will Spurs be clear in third, ten points ahead of Arsenal, with a third of the season to go?

Will England win, or at least stand a chance of winning, the Euros?

Those people have been proved wrong with the first. Why not the second? Harry will certainly be thinking that.
