Phil Jones is nowhere near ready to be an international centre back of any quality. Don't think Smalling is ready either, Cahill has to prove himself at Chelsea, and the rest are pretty much average.

Arguably the 3 best CBs cannot be taken to Euro2012. Terry for the reasons you state, and Ferdinand and King because they just are to much of a risk, as seen 2 years ago.

So Ferdinand started this by being a victim of racial abuse, that he didn't report?

Smalling in my opinion could play for England tomorrow in a major tournament if he had to. He's without a doubt the best young centre back I've ever seen and in a couple of years will be England's best centre back.

His performances for United at centre back over the last season and a half have been excellent. I can't say that I remember him making an error such as those that Phil Jones has been making this season during the whole time he has been at United.

It's unfortunate for him that he has Ferdinand and Vidic ahead of him and it's unfortunate that he has been injured or forced to play out on the right this season. I do suppose though, that the next England manager will look to someone who has been playing regularly at centre back this season for their club so I can't see Smalling starting for England at the European Championships.

Some people are better just keeping quiet because when they open their traps, they make themselves look incredibly stupid like the person who made that stupid comment above has done.

It's ridiculous that he can't be picked as capatin but can still be selected in the squad, the tea mwouldn't have missed him anyway. If the FA had just said to Capello that he was off limits then England wouldn't be faced with having to find a new manager 4 months before the Euros, and a quality manager at that, if Redknapp decides he can't be doing with the hassle that the job brings then we are in big trouble because the other options aren't up to much unless we go foreign, which i would prefer personally.

If you do not know what was wrong with what Terry allegedly did, I can only assume two things;

1) you are ignorant and stupid
2) you believe racial abuse is okay which makes you a racist

It wasn't Rio Ferdinand who got abused, it was Anton Ferdinand, his brother, I'm not surprised you can't tell them apart. After all they are both black.

Anton Ferdinand didn't report Terry, a member of the public did and if what Terry did is considered normal human behaviour, the CPS wouldn't get involved.

Like stretty posted above, Terry isn't good enough anymore to be in the national team and any manager with balls would get rid of him as he is finished
