I don't think Mata is realistic at all. Our link to him seems to be primarily from the Rafa years with his ties to Valencia. Quotes from 'sources' don't really do it for me.
As for Turan, well we would be way off the pace fir his signature considering that Galatasaray stated they had already started negotiations with Athletico Madrid back in March or April

generally, English players are rubbish. There are exceptions but for the most part we're raised on a get stuck in, put your boot through it hoofball game. "Put in a good cross (sideways longball)" "when in doubt, hoof it out".
Once we meet quota, we should look to foreign players who actually know how to play proper football. If they're Spanish even better.
