We wasted 5 million quid on Coyle and the Burnley mob.
Premiership record with Bolton:
Megson - P84 W23 D22 L39 F92 A127 GD -35 Pts91
Coyle --- P83 W24 D15 L44 F97 A138 GD -41 Pts87
I'm not doing this to say Megson shouldn't have been binned, but to highlight what a waste of money the Coyle mob have been.
To stave relegation, Gartside needs to sack Coyle and get a manager in now who will have a 4 or 5 game impact to get us out of trouble.
Coyle's taking us down!!!
It's official. Coyle worse than Megson!!!!

No he isn't.

What?
1.Not worse than Megson.
or
2. Not taking us down.

Sorry Bricks - I was commenting directly to your Title.
I also don't think he is taking us down, but my previous comment wasn't referring to that.

But he is.
Even if we beat Chelsea away, he will have achieved 1 less point in as many games.

Bricks - your comment from other thread :

CEF, you are behaving like a creationist arguing with Charles Darwin!
'Behaving' - you sounded so condescending there pal.
Here is my reason he isn't :
When comparing two managers (or anything for that matter), you need to look at the whole package/picture.
Bricks, you have taken just one thing to compare. Statistically Megson is 4pts better than Coyle in the Prem (i'll account for 0pts v Chelsea).
But Coyle takes the Cups seriously (very important for a club like Bolton).
Coyle is a likeable person.
Coyle hasn't lost the dressing room (yet)!
Coyle hasn't called the fans pathetic.
So, considering how similar their Prem records are, and how much superior OC's Cup efforts are. Add in the other less important considerations, and that is why I disagree with you.
Change your title to below and i'll agree with you.
It's official. Coyle worse Prem record than Megson!!!!

I can understand Bricks writing this article and I think I understand the point he is making.
On the old 606, anyone who dared to say anything poitive about Megson while he was still with Bolton was howled down in a manner that I regarded as verging on cyber-bullying a lot of the time. Most of the 606 crowd was overjoyed when we got Super Owen Coyle - he must be Super because he played for us briefly during his journeyman career, and because he wasn't Megson. Super! And people invested so much emotional capital in that that they cannot now bear to face up to reality. He's still Super because ... because daddy promised he'd be super. He is still Super isn't he daddy? Please say he's super. We won't go down will we daddy?
Of course not sweetheart, cuddle your super owen teddy bear, dry your eyes and go to sleep. Everything will be super in the morning.
And daddy goes downstairs to contemplate the stats and weep into his Scotch.
I think Bricks's point is: can we all agree that keeping a club like Bolton in the Premier League is a difficult job, it's a fantastic achievement to have done so for this long by all concerned, including Megson, who did what he considered to be grimly necessary in pursuit of that aim. Coyle is doing his best as well, but he is not the messiah.

Bricks, don't you remember watching the dire football under Megson? And, I may be wrong, but he was given far more spending power than OC. As I said on another thread i would never boo the team, and I dislike the fickle posts here every time we lose. Sacking Coyle now would be a disaster - and I don't believe anyone any better would come at this stage... Coyle isn't a bad manager... he is trying to get us to play attacking football on a very tight budget. Today he got the formation totally wrong - but we need to stay behind the team for the remaining games (just like the pie eaters did today). With Blackburn beating QPR there's a level playing field for the bottom five.
There were a couple of good points today. Miyaichi looked like a shrewd loan signing, and Tuncay showed the commitment and work rate required. Mavies' goal was special too... Nevertheless it was a bad result... and in my opinion Coyle got the formation totally wrong.

Coyle has done an average job with resources at his disposal sometimes he did well and sometimes badly. Bwfc will go down with anything less than a good manager. Average managers have taken the club backwards since BSA and the only way gartside could get us out of this was to appoint a good manager like Martin o'neill.

Unfortunately we cannot attract good managers.

Why do you guys keep beating yourself up regarding Megson?? GM was terrible most of the time for you guys both on and off the pitch and got exactly what he deserved - the sack!!
The comparison between the two is both pointless and destructive. It is made just to rile people on here. OC should be held responsible for his own results based against what the club and him agreed were the minimum goals the team were to achieve. I would imagine he is not anywhere near those goals, well I would hope for your sake he isn't!!
So the chairman has to make a decision, will he get anywhere near those goals and if not would anyone else?? Money is the key thing here, if you don't have it, or won't spend it on new players then you will struggle in the Premier league of today.
I hope you guys pull out of it, but I wonder if your players have the heart to do so, today was an awful result.

The truth of the matter is that we have too many championship quality players. I do not understand how come Klasnic our top goal scorer warms the bench for most of each match he must be very frustrated . I agree Owen Coyle is a great guy but not a great manager Please bring Big Sam back he could work with nothing
