If only we had someone with some vision & courage to see when things need changing. The first half sounded really flat to me although i did miss the first 20 mins. A caller at the very end of the lutv chat mentioned about our lack of pace up front & what it was like back in the beckford days when balls were knocked up to him & how clinical he was in the final third. This is definately one area of concern for sure but there are other areas namely our defence that needs alot of work as we all know. Redders came on earlier saying how we have alot of firepower up front we could sink a battleship! I don't know what game he is watching. We have a dinstinct lack of pace up front and it shows week in week out. If we had characters like Somma, beckford, gradel etc.. then i would agree with the firepower part.
Alot of our play is also coming down the right hand side as we know & teams are well aware of this & make changes accordingly to minimise any threat from snoddy. The onus is constantly on him & he is carrying the team far too much. If we can get townsend on much earlier in the game the pressure will be off snoddy significantly & other players can also come into the game more. As alot of people have already said.. we are far too predictable. Maybe we should go 4-5-1 at times & get nunez in behind the striker like howson. Obviously there is no magic formula but we do have the capability to mix things up a bit & thus reduce some of this predictability we show week in week out. Maybe even clayton in a more advanced role? like when he got his goal against Fester! I would really like to see a bit more vision & courage when it comes to making decisions.
We are also well aware of the lack of investment in the team which is not helping this great club progress towards the promised land. So surely if there is not a vast amount of money available (so we've been told) to spend on bringing in quality we should be concentrating on what we do have & how we can best utilize our current crop of players & getting the best out of them. Poor Nunez can't get a look in. He has a 4 and a half year contract & is often warming the bench. IMO he is one of the brightest sparks in the side & his 5 goals in 3 or so games weren't a fluke so why not give him more playing time. When played in behind the striker he can be very useful. It annoys the hell out of me to see good players on the bench all the time. It would have benefited the team immensely had the likes of townsend come on much earlier & nunez. This would have provided some more pace and firepower that the side was lacking. Eddy gray did mention that he reckons redders realised after the game that he should have made changes early on. Again.. this just shows how important it is to have someone in who can make the right decisions at the right times without hesitation but with a certain amount of courage and vision. Lets hope we can learn from our mistakes & get back to winning ways!!! Also, isn't it funny how we come to life when the other team scores first.

Paul Lambert used to revert to 343 wen Norwich fell behind, he used to make subs early and go for the win, and every time he got it spot on, we need someone who has the umph and desire Lambert has. Warnock for me, Di Matteo wld also be useful

Dennis Wise always used to go for it at the start of the League 1 season.
