Or do we have them all? We've posted endlessly about new strikers etc and who (Not even I) can complain about yesterday. I posted now that Harry's been acquitted that the team would relax and be more settled. I'm not sure now if we need others. Ade was probably given a real good borrocking from Harry this week because he was much sharper. Well done boys but do we now have it. Not too wrong this I hope 1 Team.

I sort of see your point, but these players are 1 offs in their respective generations and there are plenty of bad keepers who come from lower clubs. Look at United's keepers who weren't Schmeichel, VDS or to some extent Barthez.
Also, VDS had already won the champions league with Ajax, and Schmeichel had won the 1992 Euros (I think).
A proven track record at the top, whilst adding to the price, is always very handy to have. Particularly when looking for a keeper.

Football is a constantly evolving game so you're never really done. Getting the timing right is the difficult part and for me the only man that's done that in recent history is SAF. That's what makes him so special. Not that I can stand him. Anyway short term priorities for me:
- Proper cover for Lennon and Bale.
- Defoe always wants to start and can't enjoy being where he is the pecking order. I suspect he won't be around beyond this season we'll need a replacement for him most likely.
- Ade has been generally good but I wonder if we will be able to afford his wage demands...
- And despite Saha's fantastic home debut he does have the threat of a long term injury hanging over him.
- Similarly long term replacements for King and Brad. Both will be difficult to replace.
So potentially we'll need a couple of strikers... Again. A proper winger and a CB.
We do have a lot of quality kids coming through but our recent success is built on blending proven quality players with explosive young upstarts.

Not that it matters, but Hart didn't come from Birmingham. Wasn't it Peterborough or something like that?

Good thought provoking article Dawn. Not that you need my approval!
I agree though- not sure what else we need now until end of season other than a bit of ruthlessness in the away games. If Defoe and Bale had put those late chances away I think we'd be joint top now.
