Luis Suarez Has Done His Time

The guy has maintained his innocence throughout the event. He obviously refused to shake Evra's hand, but why should he? Bridge didn't want to shake hands with Terry, so be it. Terry acknowledged that Bridge didn't want to shake hands, and he moved on. Suarez acknowledged Rio didn't want to shake hands, and he moved on. Evra grabs Suarez's hand, and looks over to the bench, just acknowledge he didn't want to shake hands and move on.

Suarez did nothing wrong, he made his message that he didn't like Evra, and he moved on. Evra was angry with this, and he understandly celebrated the victory more than usual. but Suarez kept on walking and didn't acknowledge the childish taunt.

Suarez has served his 8 match ban, and has done what was legally confirmed. He didn't have to apologise to Evra, or shake his hand. He didn't have to do that, so why do we make a fuss when he doesn't. Why should he apologise to someone he feels wrongly got him into trouble, why does he have to shake his hand.

OP,

Spot on, its that simple really.
Why, when two men are abusing each other does one need to run off crying in the first place?
I'm 100% with Suarez on this on.

"The guy has maintained his innocence throughout the event." - this is part of the problem. He was guilty, found guilty by an independent panel, but he won't admit it.

He doesn't realise that by extending the argument he doesn't make himself any more innocent. Sadly, Liverpool FC are egging him on down the wrong path.

If agree with deepspace in doing what Suarez wants: "That he's allowed to be morally empty."

Sure, he can not shake hands, but then don't complain that others have an opinion.

Why should he admit something he feels he didn't do?

That doesn't make sense in the slightest.

It was stupid. The pre-match handshake means nothing. Just touch the guys hand and move on.

There really isn't a principle involved at all.

Now, he's gonna get abused at every ground he goes to and we're gonna have to put up with 'Klanfield' abuse for the rest of time.

What's the point? It's just given the media another lorry load of ammunition to fire at the club and we just have to sit and take it. With every pundit, journalist and WUM milking the 'outrage' for all it's worth.

United have media-managed this whole affair so much better than Liverpool. In this media age, it was very naive at best, idiotic at worst. To be honest it's embarrassing.

How on earth is this part of the problem? because an independent panel believe one mans word over yours you are automatically to assume guilt and apologise?
If Evra really thought he was racially abused, why did he not report it to the police? You all know why!!

Perhaps explains Liverpools bitterness and blindness to reality through this whole affair. Down in 7th out of Europe for a few years a potential Carling Cup the peak of your miserable season...

----------

Winning the League Cup would guarantee European football

Plus despite losing yesterday, we remain four points of 4th

The bitterness as you put it, emanates from the amount of times the club, it's supporters are now called racists, to go along with your weekly chants of murderers.

In all the childish furore, it seems to be forgotten that the enquiry and Evra are on record as stating that they do not believe that Suarez is a racist.

it is just a sad attempt at bringing things to normalcy which your king and ownership and just about everybody with a brain wants to achieve.

the problem to be honest that the king and ownership did not decide to do this earlier. cocooning your player to the point that the delusion is fostered in his head and motivated by his fans is the real crime. it is getting sadder and sadder by the day mainly because of this stupid sense of persecution someone must have thought was the right way to go about things, on the balance of things (i know you all love that) liverpool and especially suarez have been on the wrong side.

but the OP is right. you do not have to learn from this experience at all! the club and suarez had every right to be obstinate and it is a right i will defend as a united fan for them. but the NORMALl thing, from the first day of the misunderstanding to yesterday was to apologize. sadly, it requires an uproar to get normal these days from liverpool and from suarez.

p.s. i am loving how we all must now accept the apologies offered. the way i see it, if you do not think you have anything to apologize for, why should we all accept it anyways? the ability to act irrationally is not reserved only for liverpool fans and players now is it?
