A few times in the past I have been struck by this same feeling that I have at the moment as regards the second love of my life. I am of course referring to BWFC and the fact that I find myself starting to not care. It's not a disregard or an active dislike, more a feeling of "Meh!"
The last time I felt like this as I recall was when we were relegated from the Prem the first time, it was a lost cause from the start and acceptance of the way things were was easy. The only time I got excited was pre-season of the following season, a fresh start and a new challenge.
This time it's not for the same reasons but I do feel like caring about the way things are going is, at the moment, ultimately fruitless. It's all got just a bit dull. I'd go so far as to say it's becoming rather predictable and boring. I saw the line-up yesterday before kick off and knew precisely what was going to happen. The match unfolded in exactly the way I predicted to the two lads I was sat with and they had looked at me askance when initially I said with much certainty that we were going to lose. I take no satisfaction from this by the way, I'd much rather that by some miraculous twist of fate, 4-4-2 suddenly worked as Coyle wants it to and not as it has failed to for 90% of the season thus far. Alas it was not to be so.
I could waste my time debating the personnel or the tactics or the signings but what would be the point? I'm sure that stay up or get relegated, Coyle will be here for the duration as will I. Locked in by my love for the club I'll be following them wherever they ply their trade, at the moment though I find it hard to get the gumption up to care, I gots the Bolton Wanderers blues.
What worries me is that if history repeats itself as it may well do, then it also may be the case that the only thing that will fire me up is the fresh challenge that a promotion push will present. In which case I rather look forward to it, because if there's one thing guaranteed to get the blood coursing it's the memories of promotion seasons and play-off runs.
Until then The Hump Of Hate is more like a mound of Meh!

No point in keeping coyle for a promotion push if he can't cut it in PL. Fresh start agreed with though but that includes the gaffer. If we go down it won't be a bit of a bad luck story like Blackpool last season we have been bottom five most of the season.

I was looking forward to going to the New Den next Saturday.
After yesterday, I'm half hoping we lose because I don't think Coyle can cope with the extra games.

I'd love a season in the Champonship, smashing teams and lifting a trophy...
But the bank manager would have a fit, and sadly most of the squad would be ordering taxis...

Thought you were talkin' about W Ham for a minute If we do go down though, then surely there's no way Wee Jimmy Krankie Coyle could survive the stigma of being ' The One ' who took us down after all these years? If you think the squad's bad now ..... it's CL quality compared to what will be left after relegation.

We are not down yet guys. We will no doubt review what has happened at the end of the season when hopefully we will still be in the Pemiership.
Coyle has to change his ideas though, we can't keep playing 442 and sadly SKD doesn't look like the man to save us. He has to be played from the bench and sadly released at the end of the season.

coyle wont change his ideas....he has had too many chances im afraid.
its not all coyles fault if im honest... the board haven't backed him and his main goal seems to be to prepare for the championship... we asked for a manager who would play football the right way, the total opposite of megson, now we seem to be asking him (as we need too) to revert back to megson style tactics
we have made our bed and now we have to lie in it, the fans are partly responsible. the club gave us what we wanted and now we are paying the price.
I just wish they could see how much of a mistake this seems to be and make changes before its to late.
with regards to Kevin Davies, I love the guy but your right, his time is up, give him a testimonial next year and get him set up doing some coaching...he can be assistant manager in a couple of years and when the time comes...im sure he could lead us on to glory again...
maybe im letting sentiment get in the way but who cares...

Coyle has changed his formation when we picked up our recent points. The last two games have been diabolical to say the least, surely he will now revert to 451.
If he doesn't. it looks like the Championship.

Just one other thing, I never wanted any manager to play 442 in all games. Sam didn't but then again he didn't play 442 very often.
