Remember him standing out for Derby years ago but based on more recent times he has either been injured or just hasn't had game time. Might worth a go as a squad player, as you point out he is only 22 so could improve and or get back to previous form then he may be a decent enough signing. However wouldn't want him to be signed on the premise he's a guaranteed starter based on his performances last season that i have seen.

I remember he was a very promising youngster who was attracting a lot of attention, but failed to live up to the original hype for one reason or another.
Still young and still has plenty to offer the game anyway.
Don't know if he would be the type of player on Ally's radar, but I think he would be worth a punt, particularly if he's available for free and his salary wouldn't break the bank.
