What a let down, good old badge kissing Gardner the one true blue in the team, and he can't even help his beloved team back to the prem. I really can't believe he is jumping ship so quickly, some fan. And as for blues, the biggest problem in the team is scoring goals, so our first move is to sell our top scorer? And a 24 year old Englishman who scored 10 goals in the prem from midfield, 6 million pound youv got to be joking, I would double that at least. Thanks craig, thanks for nothing.

wasnt he "supposed to be" a Villa fan at one time, before the chance to move to Blues came up ??

"I'm a Villa fan. I've come through the ranks and nothing can be better. I used to go on the Holte End. When I was watching Villa as a kid there were people like Garry Parker, Dalian Atkinson and Paul McGrath. I used to sing their names and now I look at the crowd and they're chanting my name, so it's great."
Craig Gardner quoted in the birmingham mail back in 2007.
Ithink the truth is that he was always a closet Sunderland - or was that Newcastle?- fan.
Don't blame the bloke for leaving if he feels that's in his best interest career -wise; after all he's generally been great for us over the past 18 months.
Just wish he'd drop the bull***.

My understanding of the situation is that BCFC have told all the players that they are for sale and have told them that they can't afford to keep them on.
Shame.

maybe he supported both , if his comments re Villa are true, standing on the Holte etc. more likely to have been a Villa supporter. saying he was a Bluenose may have been a ploy to get the blues faithful on side when the move came up.

The first rat desserting the ship.
I really wish layers wouldn't kiss the badge because no player loves the club as much as the fans and are only there to earn £££'s.
Gradner can't afford to live on £10k a week, must be the high standard of living he is used to after growing up round Yardley!

Well how good is your source JK, you keep saying the board will sell the life and soul of this club.
I beleave they would want to keep players but relegation means losses and they will lissen to any serious offers.
I am suprised they never tried to keep Gardner or hold out for more as for £5-6M Sunderland are having a good buy.
End of the day proffesional players put who they support to one side, some even say they support such a such. Was Lampard not a West Ham fan, now a Chelsea one
We are at a loss, and you dont need to be a billionare to run a football club in the Prem. You JK could Win £100M on the Euro Millions and buy a Football club and once in the Prem you can use income to buy players etc, but once relegated its then that the £40M losses are far too much for your wealth and that means cuts have to be made, or debts on club or yourself.
Under the old regime they had cash they would not spent it though they was business men but they had the cash to protect their asset/intrest when we was relegated and tried to keep at least half of the sqaud and try and do some speculative spending as they aimed to get back to where the money is.
Wish they showed same ambition once in the prem
With Yeung though i dont think he is sitting on the assets and cash that Sully and Gold had, and his secret backers must not be interested now we are not a Prem Club which is why i think Yeung never had the cash when we was relegated to buy us out, but as soon as we was promoted he than raised the cash.
Purely because our club are only a attractive investment for him while we maintain Prem Status.
Tricky times ahead.
One puzzle is though i understand we may have to sell to raise cash, is how fast Gardner was to leave ship
