According to the Sun we will have to break our wage structure see below.

SPURS will have to smash their strict wage structure to land Belgium's Eden Hazard.
The midifielder, 21, is keen on a summer move from Lille.
But he already earns £50,000 a week, so Spurs will need to make him their highest earner above Rafael van der Vaart's £70,000.
What a load of BS,I think our top earner is on 85 k a week.

Its nice to be mentioned by one of the hottest prospects in Europe, thats a fact, but i do doubt we could pull of such a deal, i dont think we will ever pay £30+ million for someone, not for a long time anyway

We all know that whats written in the papers is often muck anyway, but without the daily gossip this forum would pretty much be dead most of the time without it, excluding match days.
I won't believe it until it happens but its still nice to think about, got nothing else to think about so why not this.

Those RRP quotes were twisted by the mail trying to make something out of nothing, I speak fluent French and read the original interview!!
Do you really think he'd start badmouthing any club, or acting like he's better than a particular club?
Although it's good to be linked with players; I still get shocked seeing us liked to players like Cavani, Javi Martinez etc, knowing full well we'll end up buying Carlton Cole for £40m.

No worries Fred
The only thing i would add, is that some of the most respected journalists around HAVE said there is some sort of agreement in place..but nothing has been signed

Any chance you can give us a better translation then Fred?
Bad mouthing is one thing, but to actually say something about us and Harry is another, sure we all know its lip service.

Having discovered the Champions League in a Lille shirt this season, Eden Hazard wants to continue to fight for the most prestigious of european competitions. In order to be one of the best players in the world, the Belgian international does not want to infringe on this rule when choosing his future. According to France Football, Hazard had decided to join Tottenham to start his learning in the Premier league, the most attractive league. His departure from LOSC seems inevitable.
No big four (United, City, Chelsea, Arsenal) for him. Spurs are actually 3rd in the league, ten points clear of Arsenal in fourth. The leaders in London will have to put their hand deep in their pockets for the services of the best player in last season's L1 campaign. (35 or 40 million euros). They could finance this by selling Croatian, Luka Modric, tracked by Chelsea for months.
"I've not signed anything yet".
For him, he didn't want to speculate on this information on a show on RTBF, the main Belgian TV channel. "Maybe... I have said that I'd like to go to England, we will see. It's a rumour, it's a club that interests me, great players and a great manager. Although, I've not signed anything yet, something will happen soon I hope". The red devil (?) would like to contest the end of the season in free spirit to offer the Lille supporters a gift despite them being 11 points off the Parisian leaders of L1.

Seems to be something out of nothing again. I copied and pasted the French into the comment and closed the link but it had banned words!!

The 'agreement' as some of the hacks have quoted is only described as 'some sort of agreement'. It's still guessing. The point is that the interviewer was the one that brought up Spurs, not Hazard. The journalists are just saying that 'with the way he was talking about Tottenham, he must have some sort of agreement'. They fail to mention how the original conversation was constructed. If the interviewer had brought up Arsenal, Real or maybe Chelsea do you really think his answer would have been any different. No chance. It's a stock answer for a man keeping his options open.

Thanks Fred, it is something out of nothing, yet, it is still something to talk about with nothing else around.
Yet France Football at least linked him with us, with may be amount to nothing, but in years gone by it would have always been Chelsea or Arsenal over us, granted our current position in the league speaks favourably for us, but its still better than not being mentioned.
We shall see, we are always going to get linked to players, only a fraction will ever come about, we all know that, but heres hoping.
