Gamegear > Everything else

It is clear there is a direct correlation between illiteracy and video gaming judging from the OP's article.

the only handheld worth having, ever, was the original gameboy. everything since has been a poor attempt to live up to that.
more people now play games on their phone than on any handheld.

I agree with the gamegear comment. That was a great handheld.

Only problem with the gamegear was how quickly it went through batteries, oh and the fact that the TV tuner was rubbish.

"the fact that the TV tuner was rubbish."

If you're trying to watch TV on your handheld computer (back in the early 90's) you need to get some better games.

The Vita has the hardware to drive people back to hand helds (maybe not the price tag atm) but, and this is a big Beyonce but it needs the games to do it. The release titles however do look much stronger than the PSP did. But its all about the backing from the Devs - the PSP was by far the best hand held i had played with but had very few games and stupid expensive discs. The Vita seems to have the power of a PS3 and when it drops to £130-£150 which it should do in about 6 months or just in time for xmas 2012 will be a big hit. And the games coming out look immense - MG HD, im sure there will be a GoW game and even FIFA looks amazing.
I dont mind playing games on my phone - but they really only have 5minutes play time, sometimes it is nice to have "proper" games on the go.

TBH MonDieu I didn't have the TV tuner I once borrowed it off a mate and was glad I didnt spend money on it.
The Atari Lynx was an underrated handheld.

Still have my Gameboy at home. The Original big blocky grey one. Played tetris the other day.
