Are Arsenal on a downwood spiral that will

eventually in season 2012-13 send them back to the division below.

It would be a fitting climax to a century of never actually having been promoted legally in the first place.

I rest my case. Over to you.

Man Utd were a rich club in the 70's and down they went. The difference is that they had a lot of managers in a short time w.hereas Arsenal have been more settled

Wongs... I think you are wrong, there are many 'big' clubs and more succesful clubs (historically) int he lower divisions... Arsenal prob won't be relegated anytime soon, or prob not at all but saying a club is too traditional to go down is just wrong.....

Also, the type of manager a club can attract all depends on what the chairman feels appropriate to pay them... if Arsenal finished 5th this year... lost their crown jules, and finished 10th the season after, with no extra money coming in becuase of falling gates, less TV appearences etc.... then how could they justify getting a jose in, and how could that manager get the right players in? - a re-buil;ding process takes years... sometimes too long, and you can find yourself out of touch with the top sides very, very quickly

Wong's

1) Thank you Chicken. I cannot see a club which is in the CL one season getting relegated the next

2) Your analogy with Wigan is strange seeing as they have no tradition in the top flight at all.

=========================

1) I never said Arsenal would be relegated the next season - please re-read my post(s).

2) Tradition or not, Wigan have been in the top flight since 2005. And are the only club to have been promoted & not been relegated. FACT! My point is at the moment they are the only club to have done that but before they were the only one, there was 2. Two being the same number of clubs you think will never suffer releagtion, just because they are the "last 2".
