Harry's Sales Pitch

Not quite sure what our wonderful leader is playing at, it could be a motivational masterclass or just a sales pitch?

From the BBC website:

While Redknapp conceded he could let Woodgate go this summer, he also said any manager who took a gamble on the former Real Madrid player would be richly rewarded should he return to full fitness.

"If we don't keep him then he is worth a gamble for someone on a pay-as-you-play deal because if you can get him fit you will have one of the best centre-halves anywhere," he said.

"If I wasn't at Tottenham I would take a gamble on him. He could be a fantastic signing because he is training this morning [Friday] and he feels fit for the first time in two years."

Surely we're not going to keep Ledley & Wooders on the books for another season?? Looks like arry's going to use the Birmingham game as a shop window for fringe players.

If so, who else would you like to see playing with a view to shifting some of the dead wood?

Personally, I'd like to see Hutton (if fit?) and Bassong get a game along with Crouch & Pav, a storming 4-0 win and a load of bids coming in! With this in mind I can see Krancjar playing, I'd love to see him stay but the way he's been treated this season I can't blame him for looking elsewhere.

Harry's handling of some players has been slightly less than thoughtful, or diplomatic. I wouldn't blame Kranjcar, or Defoe, for that matter, if they ask to move on.
A fit Woody is one of the best CB's in the world. But, there lies the problem - how long can he stay fit?
Given the prices being asked for good replacements nowadays, it's tempting to keep him. However, common sense says No.

Perhaps it could be the 25 man squad rule

I think our biggest mistake was scrapping the reserve side - players want to play, they don't want to not play - at least a reserve side would give them game time.
