Arsenal fan here.... Yes I'm very annoyed but your great performance is being overshadowed by Arsenals recent miseries. Sessegnon is a class player James Mclean worked hard too. Martin O'Neil has been absolutely fantastic! I would like to see Gyan return because you'd be a force. What is the situation on Bedntner is he injured, just been dropped, or what?
Again, good solid performance by you guys
Good Luck
Congrats For Today

no I just commented on sunderlands poor support against arsenal but it looks like admins an avid makem who doesn't like the truth.
I'm an avid villa supporter (yes there is one) who lives no more than 25 miles from the SOL but choose to travel a round trip of 400 miles to support the club i've followed for 45 years. Yes I know that the crowds are down at VP buts that more of a protest against mcleish.
sunderland I have always classed as quite a well supported club but lately the crowds have been poor ,and the crowd against arsenal(although televised) was beyond belief.
best of look for the future.....

Our attendance figures have been quite poor, but we've still averaged around 40,000 I think, which, bearing in mind the current economic climate, is still, comparatively speaking, quite good
Fans' mindsets have been changed, not just because of finances, but 'cos of decades of being 'knocked down' after being given hope that things are going to get better . . . . bearing in mind what we've been through during that period, the attendances ( last saturday's being an exception, but perhaps being understandable, too 'cos of the aforementioned, and it being live on ITV ) are actually remarkable

with MON in charge Sunderland have nothing at all to worry about.
Even after such a short time in charge Iv'e noticed his methods are coming together in games..(only seen them on tv though)and they are playing like the villa were 3/4 seasons ago.
At least with MON in charge you lot have a premiership future I wish I could say the same for us lot with the evil jocko in charge .

Although I agree our crowd against Arsenal was shockingly low, I find it ironic that a lot of the criticism has came from Everton and Villa fans, despite our crowds being consistantly higher than both of theirs...

very true but now should be higher with MON in charge

Despite the recession hitting Sunderland at least as bad as anywhere else in the UK, I would imagine that our gates will improve as the season goes on. Unless, as seems to be the case lately, we keep getting our games moved to stupid times to accommodate TV.

I go to nearly all of the games ( home & away ) anyway, and think that showing games on 'dodgy tv' should be banned . . . . oh, it is banned . . . . . and this doesn't make any difference to the people exploiting it
. . . . it does to the attendances, though
