Annoying thing about Diaby

As much as we all want to get rid of him this summer because of how he is so injury prone, inconsistent and unreliable, it is no less than a fact that he would make our midfield so much better right now. So much better.

On his day, he can be as effective as Yaya Toure going forward, with his explosive and powerful runs.

He has an eye for a goal and is also very good at dribbling, easing past players.

It's certain that we'd be so much better as a team if we had him in midfield rather than rosicky/ramsey.

I miss you, Abou

The irony, you don't know what you have until it's gone.
It'll be the same when Wenger eventually leaves.
I used to be 1 of the few guys on the old 606, who rated Diaby.
Im disappointed we lost the FA cup but honestly I never thought we would win it anyway, can you imagine this team in another cup final?
They would lose & my heart can't take any more anguish.

Let's concentrate on getting top 4, and hopefully Wenger reinforces the squad in the summer and I'm talking massive overhaul of players & staff and if possible stadium!!!!

What do you mean, overhauling a stadium?

Was only joking about the stadium overhaul, but the stadium move has been a disaster(team wise) I know it's not possible to go back to Highbury!
But I can always dream

Wenger said that Diaby had a chance to come back for the Spurs game. Is he reanimated by that time? I miss him recently on the training ground picture.

Diaby's susceptibility to injuries, mediocre performances, lack of desire, frustrating inconsistency, certainly means that he'd fit right into this side when he is fit again, no question

Diaby is our most talented midfielder imo. More talented than Wilshere. But we have to get rid of him in the summer - he's more injury prone than Gibbs.

The problem with the midfield became very apparent yesterday when Song was forced to go back into the defense. We had Rosicky and Arteta in a 4-4-2. Completely crazy.

4-4-2 only works with very hard working midfield players who can pass the ball in the air and then have the capacity to support any lose balls to build pressure.

Diaby would have been very useful in that situation.

Diaby:

Pros.
(1) Marauding forwards when dominant or against tired defenders he is a real handful.
(2) Adds height to defensive free kicks.
(3) Occasional moments of brilliance.

Cons:
(1) Cannot pick a dangerous pass - lacks vision.
(2) No sense of defensive positional awareness.
(3) Doesn't track back - in no way a box to box player.
(4) Weak in the tackle for his size.
(5) Indisciplined and a bit thick - slaps Barton just hard enough to get sent off but not hard enough to do any damage. Loses it again in his next match and Van Persie has to have words.
(6) Gives away free-kicks and mis-passes thoughtlessly in dangerous areas.
(7) Slows the forward play - although right now he would fit right in !
(8) Doesn't have a winning mentality - zero leadership skills.
(9) Usually takes on one defender too many and loses possession - his long runs usually have no end product as he doesn't know what to do with it.
(10) Possesses very little aerial threat for his height.
(11) Extremely injury prone.
(12) Likes to prance around at home in Kaboul's $puds shirt - not really relevant but something that really pi$$e$ me off

Diaby is yet another player we should dump in the summer but I doubt anybody will want to buy him - especially as his wages are so high.

Who is going to buy Diaby? Are there any clubs anywhere on this earth which doesn't know about his injury problems?

Mind you who would be stupid enough to give him a contract extension in the first place...?

I've always been a fan of Diaby, for all his faults. Remember one goal he scored for us in the CL against Liverpool a few years back, went mad when it went in. Shame we lost the tie in the end though.
