but because our attack has not been effective opposition teams are now putting undue pressure on our defence and something has to give for them to score, also, most teams attack from the flanks thereby forcing Cole or Bosingwa to make the occasional error for them to get their goal. Imo, if we sort out our attack our defensive lapses will go away or the odd error from the defenders or gk will hardly be noticable.
Thoughts...
Cole, Bosingwa and Cech are not that bad

This means logically, you can also blame Torres for our defensive lapses...

Bosingwa is, stats back it up, but atleast he's better than Walker

No defender can hold his own for 90mins every weekend if the attack is not biting, fokk the stats

Nope, Cole and Bos have just been rubbish

Look at the contrast of stats when Bosingwa plays and he doesn't.
Dont mean to sound cynical but if Bosingwa played most or all of the double season we would be on our 4th rubbish season now instead of our 3rd out of 4th

Cole is a shadow of himself there is a difference between having 2 against 1 if Mata starts on the left and drifts doesn't track back and some of the woefull 1 on 1 defending where Ashley has been skinned by average players

There is a remarkable similarity right now between the situation at Chelsea and that at Arsenal. There appears to be a lack of leadership on and off the field and coupled with a lack of passion and distractions about some club personnel you get poor results!
