Morning Reds
After De Gea having his medical yesterday and the signings of both Jones and Young the general feeling is the next arrival will be a central midfielder(or two)
We have been linked with Sneijder Modric Nasri Rodwell Adam(please no) and more recently Thiago Alcantara
Who would my fellow reds prefer?
And who do you think is most likely to arrive?
The middle man

Go for Nasri and get some creativity.
With the loss of Fabregas and Nasri theres a good chance of three points at the Emirates.
Taking both Berbatov and Modric from Spurs would be a little bit mean dont you think?
Tricky for Ferguson though because he knows his negative Carrick, Fletcher, Park and Anderson quartet can grind out results. But he wants to lose his unimaginative label.

Raul Mereiles? Would he be a bad signing? Looked like one of Liverpool's best last season. Cheap at around £14mill if they would sell him to us. Would prefer him over Nasri.
What about the Brazilian guy we courted earlier in the season? His name eludes me.
Or Diego? Personally I'd prefer a couple of up and coming stars than a Modric or a Sneijder.

JKN – who was the Brazilian guy your referring to? Was he a centre mid?
I was literally racking my head as to who we could get – someone under the radar so he wouldn’t cost silly money

Douglas Costa seems to have been forgotten unless he has signed somewhere else. I for one wouldn't mind the promotion of Cleverly and Pogba/Morrison/Turnicliffe featuring more frequently. Anderson really upped his game last season and it wouldnt be a complete crisis if we signed only one as Cleverly can definitely fill in vs lesser teams

Anderson needs to shift a stone - hopefully with a proper pre-season behind him and a bit of a shift i nhis attitude he can acheive this and become the player he was hyped up to be - its all ifs and buts though...
I think people are expecting a bit too much for Pogba, Morrison etc yeas they won the youth cup but its a big step up to reserve level and then again to the first team. Best not to put them under too much pressure

SAF has already explained Anderson's fitness problems last season
He had to eased back a nursed after his injury. He basically didn't have the opportunities to be 100% match fit after his injury
Both SAF and Anderson have said this will be Anderson's breakout season.
If so, it would be as good as a new signing.

How about Berbs in the middle? I am sure he has the best touch in our whole squad and can retain the ball quite comfortably.
If my memory serves me correctly, he said that he would like to move in to the center mid one day.

Berba isn't mobile enough to play midfield. He's far too languid for the role.

Berbatov in the middle?
Maybe in a central midfield 3 (ie in the hole) but then where would Rooney play?
Neither Nani nor Berbatov would make good central midfielders. Silly idea! Gibson or Anderson would be better options than that.

I'd like to see Thiago Alacantra and Jack Rodwell (or a top defensive midfielder) come in myself. Although i can only see one coming in, and i'd much prefer Thiago. I personally think he can be as good as Xavi, and he's already stated he wouldn't be against leaving barcelona, expecially if they sign fabregas.
I think Rodwell can turn out to be a top box to box player, but signing him could overload our midfield with him, (insert new creative midfielder if we get one here), anderson, carrick, fletcher, cleverly, gibson (for now at least). Plus the young players coming through.
IDEALLY for me we'll keep berbatov, he is a sublime footballer and we need to keep him as he provides a brilliant option for the squad, don't see the point in strengthening the squad if we're only going to weaken it again by selling a top player.
